message 6351: by Akhil (new)

Akhil Ramankutty | 200 comments After gaining Knowledge = Reasons. See how i just disproved your own earlier claim ? Like a boss. :D

Seclusion is like the ocean, you can dive deep and find beautiful places. But a friend is like the air. You need air to survive. I'll take them both, at measured amounts.

TTPBM : Same.

message 6352: by Purvika (new)

Purvika (violetstygian) | 1252 comments True...but your question was on belief and not faith.... To have faith ...we must first believe....and to believe we don't need a reason ..... So my claim still stays...

I would rather embrace seclusion then have a friend who will take me for granted...

TTPBM Do you think people read books to escape reality of life ?

message 6353: by Chandan (new)

Chandan Bansal | 46 comments For me books have always been inspiration to create a new and better reality out of life.

TTPBM: How influential has any(which?) book been in transforming you and your life?

message 6354: by Akhil (new)

Akhil Ramankutty | 200 comments I don't think anyone will believe anything without reason. Reason may be wrong or right. But i think it has to be there. Of course, I could be wrong. Long ago people believed the sea, the wind and the sun were gods. They had their reasons. Wasn't that their faith? Far in the future, everything we believe in would be disproved. Are there not faithful among us now?

I think so, yes. Reality is ok too, but to slay dragons and see elves, we need books, right? Reality is what we perceive it to be. And so books do have some reality locked away in their pages waiting for us to experience them.

TTPBM : Same.

message 6355: by Akhil (new)

Akhil Ramankutty | 200 comments Oh sorry Chandan did not see your comment.

The Fountainhead was a complete Life changer. I think it made a leader out of me. I persuaded my professors to give us proper rooms, representing my friends, which they finally did. I got the courage to do that because of the knowledge that the system could be brought under our control.

TTPBM : Same.

message 6356: by Purvika (new)

Purvika (violetstygian) | 1252 comments Just to talk about reasoning there has to be a pint of belief.... The one who don't believe in a certain thing will never find the reason to solidify their belief. Reasons are required to strengthen what we believe in and not for belief itself.

I wouldn't say any book that had influenced me but yeah many books leave their mark behind, books like And the mountain echoed and life of jaycee dugard make me think the value of existence and importance of family.

TTPBM have you ever given someone your most valuable / sentimental possession.

message 6357: by Purvika (last edited Jul 09, 2014 05:04PM) (new)

Purvika (violetstygian) | 1252 comments Btw I do not believe that far in the future everything we believe in will be disapproved as we are already in tech era... We have established certain norms and beliefs. Only those things will be rejected which has no base or the roots are unreliable.

message 6358: by Akhil (new)

Akhil Ramankutty | 200 comments OH MY GOD! You don't give up do you? I think i am thoroughly confused about what we are arguing about, if at all we are arguing, to give up. I concede, you are right. Let me guess, a student of philosophy?? You have given so many reasons to reinforce your belief, I think I mustn't go further. :D

No. My most valuable possession is still with me.

TTP above and hopefully below me : Are you not in India? Do you not sleep??

message 6359: by Purvika (new)

Purvika (violetstygian) | 1252 comments Hahahahha.... A student of not philosophy but psychology :P and nope I don't give up any chance of argument/ debate etc etc.

As for Q. Yup I am in India...and I do sleep...just in breaks...

TTPBM ... What is utter-most important for life .... Water or food. Nope can't choose both...

message 6360: by Akhil (new)

Akhil Ramankutty | 200 comments Great! Of all the people i could pick a fight with, i had to take on the psychologist.

I can't chose both? Hmm, you are starting to understand me. I think food. Because, you can enjoy eating, but no one enjoys drinking water.

TTPBM : Where do you get all these weird questions? Is this for your thesis or something?

message 6361: by enaven (new)

enaven bali | 225 comments I would go for water..
TTPBM: since the FM is presenting the budget .. prefer development (GDP) r deflation

message 6362: by Purvika (last edited Jul 09, 2014 09:02PM) (new)

Purvika (violetstygian) | 1252 comments Crucial information : one can go without food for more than 48 hrs. But not without water....
Btw I enjoy drinking water... Go without water for 12 hrs..and you will enjoy it as well... :D

As for Q. .. I will go with development

TTPBM same

message 6363: by enaven (new)

enaven bali | 225 comments tough choice. it has to have judicious amalgamation.. given present scenario I would emphasize on cracking the whip on inflation
TTPBM:prefer mouse r keyboard shortcut keys

message 6364: by Akhil (last edited Jul 09, 2014 09:27PM) (new)

Akhil Ramankutty | 200 comments Not so crucial information : Cucumber, lemon, grapes, Pappaya.. all these are food, right? Can one not survive without water for more than 48 hours if you eat lots of those?? No matter how much water you drink, you cannot sate your hunger. But the right food can quench your thirst. So I'll be smiling free from hunger and thirst, while you'll be crying, wishing you had made the right choice :D

I would go with development too. Enaven, Economics student?

TTPBM : If you could have one wish, what would it be? Don't ask for more wishes.

message 6378: by Purvika (last edited Jul 10, 2014 01:43AM) (new)

Purvika (violetstygian) | 1252 comments Water is the most dangerous element .... It can cut like sword...it can struck like bolt...it can drown one to death.... One should know how to use this element and no weapon can beat it...

Bon voyage

Btw my mistake. Yes, you may control water. I do read fantasy books. But you could have controlled anything in the world, mind, matter, fire or even time for that matter. And you chose water. *head shaking in disapproval.* The end will be swift.
