Why did they skip book #2?! When I saw your news about Blameless, I went looking for Changeless and it's not there. I've been waffling about what to listen to next and thought I might try it even though I haven't read it yet.I really liked Soulless in audio. I didn't have any trouble with the narration even though I'd only skim-read it beforehand. I'm really fond of the villain voice. :) I think it sounds just like Uncle Vernon and gives the villain an extra bit of creepiness.

I guess I will be reading Changeless and listening to Blameless. But I'm wondering why too.
Changeless is available on audio by Recorded Books. You can either rent it directly from them or check your library. I read someone else say their library had it through Netlibrary.com . I saw that Changeless is exclusive to Recorded Books but not sure what that means anymore. Anne Bishop's recent release of Twilight's Dawn is also marked as a Recorded Books' exclusive but audible.com had it available. I found book 2 a delightful listen as well as Soulless. I really enjoyed Gail Carriger!
Well rats, I was so happy to see Blameless at Audible it didn't even register that it was the third one, not the second. Emily Grey was perfect with Soulless, glad to hear she carries through with Changeless, thus no doubts about Blameless.

Maybe I'll try SOULLESS again. It's sitting on my iPod but the POV shifts stopped me. Only got to the second chapter, so maye I should persevere.
Heads up! Changeless by Gail Carriger is now up on audible (US) as of this morning! This is book 2 folks! I had gotten at library but am now going to buy!Link to audible goodreads version I just added
Yea, for once I had the patience to wait and Audible came through for me .... speaking of which, anybody want to borrow Susan Andersen's Bending the Rules in CD format? The one I wasn't patient for! LOL Thanks for the link Vic.

Thanks! I'm heading over to get it and then to take myself off the library waiting list.
I saw that Gabaldon's unabridged A Breath of Snow and Ashes was released at Audible today and it's only one credit. There's going to be a lot of happy fans. :)

What did you all think about S..."I am not familiar with this author. Just wandering what authors her writing may be similar to.
You know Paula I can't think of an author she would compare to in my library. Reading Soulless (the first book of the series) was a unique experience for me. And listening to it was even better! It was witty, funny and my first experience with a "Steampunk" historical, I loved it.Hopefully someone has a better brain than I to give you another authors name to compare with. :)
Diane I know some of the longer books and the super popular books (still peeved over LH's Blood Born!) are sometimes 2 credits. So I guess that's what I was thinking this one would be, as it has been so long in coming to Audible.
Paula - I can't think of a single comparison either. Of course that may be due to the fact that it is the only steampunk I've read/listened to. The first, Soulless, is quite romantic. But I don't think the second and third live up to that level of romance (still haven't started book 2). I know I've read such comments either here or at Speaking of Audiobooks??? Anyone else have thoughts on the romance element in books 2 and 3?
Loved the romance in the first book, which is why it is my favorite. The next two qualify more in the light mystery aspect for me, with the same wit / humor along with the personalities.Since I really like the character of Alexi Tarabotti, once I got romance off my brain, I thoroughly enjoyed the next two books and am looking forward to the 4th. The excellent narration by Emily Gray really added to my enjoyment of the less romantic entries.
Paula wrote: "I am not familiar with this author. Just wandering what authors her writing may be similar to."I've only read/listened to the first book but I've heard the same thing about the romance being much less prominent.
The narrative voice in book 1 reminded me a lot of Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody. And I've seen reviews that criticize Carriger for the strong resemblance in tone and some similarities in the characters. None of that bothered me. After initially noting the similarity, I became engrossed in Carriger's world and forgot about it.
Kim Harrison's books used to be 1 credit but the last couple have been 2 credits. :( To me it makes no sense how the publishers decide which books to make the 2 credit price. But it really ticks me off when they start a series out at 1 credit and then increase it to 2. Most generally if my member price is less than the cost of my 2 credits I'll outright buy the book instead of using the credits.

Finally!!! Now if they can just finish out the series and get The Fiery Cross unabridged...
Just read tweet from Tantor that they picked up Devon Monk's Magic series (7 of them) and 2 books by Kristina Douglas (aka Anne Stuart as I just read on other thread :) ) - RAZIEL and DEMON. I've been eying Devon Monk for awhile so will probably give these a try.
