Hi everyone,
I've updated our Upcoming Reads with the estimated publication dates of Josh's next few books coming out. Of course, any of this could change, as we all know, but as of right now, here's our reading schedule:
The Prince and the Program - September 2019
To See the Sun - October 2019
I Buried a Witch - November 2019
Spring - December 2019
Blind Side - January 2020
Somewhere Over Lorain Road - February 2020

Of course, I've already forgotten what I wanted to talk about regarding "Somewhere Over Lorain Road.
Lol, you’ll just have to reread it come February! :-)
I’m looking forward to The Prince because I’m still in a robot/ai mood, like, hardcore! Lol.

I’ve not confirmed with Josh yet, but according to GR, Spring is coming out very soon, so I swapped that in for next month. If it’s not out, then yes, we would be reading Lorraine Road next. Amazon does not have it listed yet, so it might not be true. Once we read Lorraine, then we can vote again for other BOM reads.

Yay -- fingers crossed!
Let us know; I need to reread Winter or Somewhere Over Lorain Road before November . . .

Spring is my most anticipated Josh book ever!"
Do you mean read Winter for our November read, and maybe also Spring if it's released in time? You'd have my vote!

I'm up for that. Wouldn't be a reread in my case, though. :)
Ok, I’ve got an update for you. There will be no Spring in November. It’s been pushed back until next spring. So, for November we will be reading Somewhere Over Lorain Road!
For December we’ll have I Buried a Witch and for January it will be (fingers crossed) Blind Side. Though I did tell Josh no pressure for Blind Side!
Anyway, I think in December we can do another vote for a Non-Josh book. That would potentially be our February read.
Does that sound okay to you guys?
We can always do a reread of Winter right before Spring. Someone remind me when the time comes! If we can do it, it might be good to do it the month before.
I think we did a reread of Will & Taylor last year right before Blind Side’s original release date and I’m not sure if we would have time to do it again, but we could resurrect the threads for those who want to reread the books or just to reread our comments. I think there’s a thread somewhere around here for that. I’ll go looking.

That sound like a great idea! Next month we should be doing a nomination and poll for our next non-Josh book! And I second your nomination! 😁

I think we had discussed one of Gregory Ashe's books? Or was there something else that I'm forgetting? I know I had mentioned there was something I was eager to read and I thought it would be fun to do together?
And because I haven't had any free reading time, I want to choose wisely! :-D

Yes, I think we did mention Gregory Ashe!
Also, December is usually the month when you, Josh, choose our book, which I only just remembered a moment ago. But you’ve got a new book coming out, which we are currently planning to read. Would you want to choose an additional book for December, or perhaps choose our next non-Josh title instead?

IT'S MY TURN!!!!
LOL
Well, let's read Gregory's book in January then? It'll be a fun way to kick off the year. I think it was the first book in the PI series I was thinking of.
It starts out with someone doing yoga which NATURALLY caught my attention.

Is Blind Side coming out then? We can always read it in February if it is.
Also, I love recommending Corpse Pose at the library! So, yay for yoga and mysteries! 😋

Blind Side is actually scheduled for the end of this month. So whichever works for everyone else is fine with me!

Ok, I’m going to create a poll for us to determine whether we read Blind Side in January and Pretty Pretty Boys in February, or the other way around. Either way, we’ll read both!
Hey everyone,
For our BOM, Josh usually chooses our December read! Because Josh’s I Buried a Witch just came out, that’s our December read for this year. (The discussion post for it is coming soon.) Josh’s Blind Side comes out at the end of December, which leaves us with a question, do we want to read that next, in January, or go with a late Josh December pick of Orientation?
I’ve put together a poll to help us decide. Keep in mind that whichever book we don’t read in January, will be our February read.
https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
The poll will be up for one week.

Yes! I think Orientation is a good choice to orient (sorry) oneself to Ashe's work, especially as there are only three books in the series so far and that's less intimidating/overwhelming than the six books in the first Hazard & Somerset series. (I just started series 2). Orientation is also rather manic and I think will make for an interesting discussion. :)

Thank you for giving me the correct book! I couldn’t remember which Ashe book we’d been talking about and couldn’t find the reference to it. I will update all links and the poll to reflect the title change ASAP.

So, is it Orientation that you're talking about reading? If so, it's on sale on amazon for 99¢ at the moment.

Yes, I believe it is, and have made all the changes necessary. Perfect timing for the sale! I just saw that in the other thread and grabbed it.

Just so you all know, Blind Side won the poll for our January BOM read, which means Orientation will be our February read!

And now let's flip that around since I just pushed Blind Side back to the end of January! :-D So we can read Orientation first and then Blind Side.

Yes, Teal mentioned that sale at just the right time! :-)

Hi everyone,
There may be some BOM openings coming up for books not written by Josh, and I wanted to get a head start on nominating and voting on things so we can be prepared for when the next opening comes up.
So let's take some nominations for the next week and then we'll take a week to vote. Sound good?
See the first post in this thread for our BOM nomination and voting rules.
I know Brenda wanted to nominate The Long Call, and I second this one! I'm reading it now and it's really good!

Ok, the BOM poll would normally go up tomorrow, but we don’t have enough nominations. Also, Josh has just posted her release schedule for 2020, and it’s an amazing doozy, so we’re packed with books for the next few months!
Here’s what’s happening:
February: Blind Side
March: Murder at Pirate's Cove
April: Secret at Skull House
May: Bell, Book and Scandal
I’ll add these to our bookshelves with our BOM read dates tomorrow when there’s more time.

Yes, I would like to do that too. I think maybe in June we might have an opportunity.
But yes, I'm super excited for these books! MM Cozy Mysteries sound amazing to me. My little Ace heart is very happy at the prospect!

Just an FYI, our next book Bell, Book and Scandal, doesn't come out until the 12th of April. That gives us a two week break.
Hello everyone, Josh has just announced that Bell, Book, and Scandal will not be out next month, so we need a new BOM for April!
So far, nominations include The Long Callby Ann Cleeves.
Does anyone have anything else you’d like to nominate for a vote?
Since April is fast approaching, let’s take nominations through Tuesday, and then we can take votes through Friday. How does that sound to everyone?

Does your library have an available ebook copy? Since this is by a mainstream author, libraries are more likely to have it.

No. I have 3 libraries, and I've recommended it to all three, but none of them have acquired it.
Mymymble wrote: "Teal wrote: "I'd love to read The Long Call, but the ebook is $14. 😱 I'll see if I can come up with an alternative suggestion..."
Wow. It's £4.99 here. That's some price difference."
Yeah, I just double checked and the price of the Kindle ebook is just about the same as the hardcover on Amazon. :-( Wowzers.
That's too bad, because I thought it was a really good book and I'd also love to discuss it with you guys.
At the very least, the audiobook price drops considerably if you bought the Kindle edition. *shrugs*
But regardless, if anyone has any other nominations, please post them by tomorrow. And if you think that's too soon, let me know and we can extend the time, no problemo.

If it helps, I would also like to read The Wolf at the Door, which has been recommended to me by at least one person in our group. Thoughts?

I was debating on whether or not to suggest this one. I would like to continue reading the series, but I don't remember much about the first book. I would be down to (re)read it.
