So manyseconded thirded fourthed fifthed sixthed seventhed Hell Cop that it seems to me we don't need a poll this month... ;-)
So many

Yay! Yay yay yay yay! :)
BWTPT looks like you are giving someone a spitty-kiss. Also known as a zerbert.
On to the subject at hand, I'd be interested in Hell Cop. I have not read it yet.

I had to google it. It's not a word I will be able to use very often, but it's fun to know it nevertheless :)

Me too. I think you need a helpless baby or a willing child to put it to real use!

I actually do the deed on the stomachs of my smallest niece and nephew and granddittos, but I rarely explain it to them in English ;)

They do grow out of it :). Fortunately I have a big family, so there are seemingly an endless supply of babies to zerbert on? With? How do you use that word? ;)

It just occurred to me that we haven't picked a book for October yet. In the spirit, sorta, of Halloween, I'm going to nominate our own Blaine Arden's Aliens, Smith and Jones.

When are we doing The Rifter, or did I imagine that?

No, you didn't imagine it. ;-) We are planning to read The Rifter series by Ginn Hale in December.
Josh wished that we would read and discuss it together some time and Calathea suggested that we'd do it in December — because Decembers have become months when we read "Josh's favorites" (December 2011 The Larton Chronicles and December 2012 The Charioteer). :-)
Soooo... you guys might want to start ordering the print books The Rifter Book One: The Shattered Gates, The Rifter Book Two: The Holy Road and The Rifter Book Three: His Sacred Bones, if you wish to have those when we'll discuss the series in December.
Here you can buy both The Rifter print books and ebooks:

And since The Rifter series has about 1000 pages I was thinking that if it turns out that we'll need more time to read and discuss it, we'll just continue to do it in January, right?

Thanks for the links. I'd better get on that. :)
Hambel wrote: "Thanks, Johanna, I had a feeling December came into it somewhere. And gosh, was it really last December that we read The Charioteer? Time flies when you're having fun :D

Thank you for asking about it, Hambel. We kinda talked about this on some thread (What else are you reading topic, maybe...?), but we never "announced" it here. :-)
Time really flies, doesn't it. A year seems to pass SO QUICKLY when you look back...

Thank you for suggesting Blaine's Aliens, Smith and Jones, Jordan.
How about the others? What would you like to read and discuss in October?

Yes! I think we'll need more than one month.
Yes! I think we'll need more than one month.

Any suggestions? ;-)
I know I'm not supposed to mention more than one book, but if we're all in agreement about thrillers, can I nominate War Torn by JM Snyder? This has been on my TBR pile for awhile and looks fantastic.

Sounds good! and since i haven't read it yet, i'll read it just before so as not to forget all the details...
Calathea wrote: "Oh! How about L.A. Heat by P.A. Brown? I liked that one a lot. :-)"
I read LA Heat years ago. I liked it -- and I always enjoy Pat's work.
There's also High Concept by Whitley Gray (which I bought but haven't read yet).

What about planning it already for December *and* January?

Both of those sounds like more mystery than romance, which I am in the mood for :)

I'm going to set up a poll tomorrow, so we can vote over the weekend and start reading next week. Are you okay with this?

Argh, why didn't you say something? Anything!? I totally forgot my own announcement.
Deep breath.
Okay.
Poll is up. It runs through Tuesday 10/8. Go vote! :)

Cool!
We obviously didn't pick a book for November unless we decided to do something different that I've forgotten.
Anyway, I'm suggesting Catch A Ghost. This looks fantastic and I rarely get a chance to read new/current stuff.

I agree, I had seen an earlier post someone had made that caught my eye about the book and thought it looked interesting and have already saved it to buy.

Yeah, I, too, think that Jordan's idea is a good one. If Josh doesn't object to this, I'll set up the topic for Catch a Ghost as our November book. It's a bit late for a poll and many of us seemed to be interested of Catch a Ghost on the What else are you reading topic here and here. And those who had read it had liked it a lot. So... sounds promising, indeed.

Secretly, I had been glad nobody asked for a November read... ;-)
I'm still at the very beginning of the Brandstetter challenge, have several books for the Rainbow award to read and can see The Rifter looming... So, count me out for this month. The suggestion sounds interesting, thougg. *sigh* There's always next year...
