Candidates for Next Month's Read
I'll correct myself on those last two. Murder Takes the High Road will be great for our October read!
Here's what we've got, and I'll put a poll together asap:
The Mermaid Murders is set in Summer
Seance on a Summer's Night
Cards on the Table
Perfect Day
The Boy with the Painful Tattoo

Hi Everyone,
We are reading Perfect Flaw for our BOM this month! You can find the discussion thread here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

What will our September BOM read be? You’ve got one week to nominate a title. Anything that gets seconded will go on the poll.
I’m going to nominate Better Than People by Roan Parrish. I’ve not read anything by this author but I’ve heard lots of good things from a coworker.
Are there any other nominations? I’ll create a poll tomorrow if there are. Maybe something by Harper Fox?
This month we are reading Cards on the Table as a reread and will be discussing it here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to take this time to let you know that I will be stepping down as BOM Captain at the end of the year. By my estimation, I've been BOM Captain for 11 years! (That's just bonkers.)
My life has been getting busier and busier lately and I'd like to give someone else a chance to run the group if anyone is interested. If you are, please let me know.
Thank you for being such a great group and for choosing to read such good books with me! I've really enjoyed reading M/M Romance titles with you over the years. And a big thank you to Josh for the chance to lead the group! It's been one of the best experiences of my life. :-D

Wow, 11 years! Thank you, Jordan. You've been great at keeping things upbeat and running smoothly, and I'm sad to see you go. I hope that life getting busier for you includes some fun stuff too. :)
You’re welcome!
And yes, life getting busier involves fanfiction, my biggest hobby, among other things. :-D

It’s that time again! What should our October BOM be? Perhaps something spooky for Halloween? Whatever you’d like to nominate, you’ve got one week to get your titles in before the poll goes up next Thursday.
I will nominate Dr. Cadaver and The Raven.
I took a quick glance through this list on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/LGBT-Romance-L... and that one looked pretty good, plus it's a short novella, which appeals to me at the moment.
I would nominate Once Upon a Haunted Moor, but everyone here that I know of has already read it ages ago. lol. But if you'd like a reread, or you haven't read it yet (like me) please do feel free to second it.

I guess I'm one of the few that didn't like Once Upon a Haunted Moor. I like everything else I read by Harper Fox but was disappointed by the Tyack & Frayne series. But maybe if it's chosen I should give it a second chance!
I've created a "series challenge idea" shelf for myself. Starting next year I'm planning to choose one series a year that I own that I either haven't finished or haven't started. The goal is to read one book a month in the series. Tyack & Frayne is definitely one I added to the idea list. Not sure when I'd get to it. I'm looking at the Benjamin Justice series for next year since I have all the books in hardcover taking up my physical unread shelf space. (Not that my vintage gay mystery shelf has space either, but whatever. lol)

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who hasn't read this!

You can't like everything, unfortunately. But hey, sometimes that's what brings a good book discussion!

I'm excited about Dr. Cadaver. A new-to-me author. Just bummed it's in KU so I can't buy it for my library right now. But I recall it was only $2.99 which is a great price to buy outright.
Okay, our BOM for October will be Dr. Cadaver and The Raven! Since there were no other nominations and this one got thirded, there will be no poll. This is it! Thank you to those who took the time to think on it and comment.

Thanks for coordinating this, Jordan. I bought it right after your first post. :)

Hi Everyone,
This is a call for nominations regarding our final Josh reread of the year! We will be reading an autumn themed book in November. If you have a favorite book that fits this theme, please nominate it below and I will add all nominated books to the poll next Thursday. Thank you!

First nomination: Fair Game! I've been wanting to nominate this for every single reread we've done so far. lol. It's finally fall and I can do that.
Second nomination: Come Unto These Yellow Sands! Another favorite of mine.

FYI, it's on sale at Amazon for $2.99 at the moment. In case that influences anyone.

In a Dark Wood is set in the fall.

Ooohhhh! Good one!

So our list now includes:
Mummy Dearest
In a Dark Wood
Come Unto These Yellow Sands
Fair Game
... I gotta be honest... I don't know how to pick just one. I want to read them all. lol
If I, or anyone else, finds one more that will round out our list. The poll will go up on Thursday, as a reminder.

I can't think of any others offhand, and I don't have time to dig right now.

Oh! How did I forget that one?! I'll add it in anyway. Thanks!
The poll will be forthcoming!

Amazon's look inside feature has been very helpful for skimming the opening scenes for information about weather... or holidays. lol.

I'll be honest, Come Unto These Yellow Sands is a top favorite of mine. I've reread it many times. So, part of me wants to vote for that one. But part of me also knows I should vote for something I don't reread as often... but, how the heck am I going to pick one?! So many good titles. It's hard. And that's the great thing about Josh's work! So many good books to choose from.
