I'll second that, (But for the record, images aren't decipherable from tablets, because you can't hover over it and see what book it is. I just happened to recognize the cover in this case.)

Mymymble, I discovered that with a pressure-sensitive tablet I can press down on the cover image and the book info will pop up. So I learned something! :)
Hi everyone,
This is just a reminder that we are still taking nominations for our March 2021 read until tomorrow when I create the poll!

Okay, so it's that time of the month! We need to take some nominations for our April read. Josh has a title possibly coming out at the end of February, so our March read may get pushed back to April. I think we should nominate and vote anyway just in case. If Josh's book does come out in February, then we'll push everything back and we can pause nominating and voting for next month.
Sound good?
So, with that, we're taking nominations for one week and the poll will go up next week!

My nomination is for the duology: Silver in the Wood & Drowned Country, as I think they're both novellas and short.

I'll second that.

This is a reminder that we're still taking nominations for our next BOM read until Thursday! So far we only have Silver in the Wood & Drowned Country nominated.

Silver in the Wood is book one and Drowned Country is book two. Will we be reading both of them?

I'm currently enjoying The Story of Fester Cat, but I'll save it for a later nomination when we're in the mood for something different. It's the story of a stray cat adopted by a gay couple, told from the POV of the cat.

Yes; I believe the nomination was to read the two as a duology, since they're short novellas.

They're both short, so I thought we might. Unless you'd rather just go with the first one. I've not read either, but picked up the audiobook that has them both together.

No probs we can read both. I have read the first one. It would be good to read them together.

Also, Jordan Castillo Price's latest in the Psycop series is out...Other Half. As the latest in the series, might not work for the book of the month, as definately need to read the whole series to make sense of it..might have to jump back to the first short book that started Psycops...Among the Living
I’ve not heard of More Heat than The Sun!
I started the latest Psycop, but paused it because I think I need to reread like, the previous 2-3, and I’m conflicted about this and how far back I need to go/want to go. But I really want to read the latest! My review of the last book mentions wanting to start over at the beginning, which is great, but that’s a lot! Lol.

So, for me, I started the reread of the series at Agent Bayne before reading Other Half. Agent Bayne is when Vince shifts from being cop to agent, so it was a good point, as the ones prior to that are very familiar to me. Have you all read the Psycop Short Stories collection, which includes an excellent new story of Vincent going thru early agent training.

The series sounded exactly like what I want to read, but I was disappointed in the first book so stopped there. It's encouraging to hear that it gets better -- I'd gladly give it another chance if it improves as it goes it along.

Oh, Agent Bayne would be a perfect place to restart it! I have the same problem, of course, that I've reread (relistened to, actually) the first books a lot more than the recent ones. I will start here. Thank you!
I know I have read all the short story collections. Would be fun to reread them as they're not in audio, so I have likely only read them once or twice.

Hi folks,
It is that time to vote on our April 2021 read! Here's the poll: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2...
The poll will be up through next Wednesday.
Obviously, if Josh's latest does come out soon we will push back the titles we're planning to read and will skip a month of nominating and voting.

Mystery at the Masquerade has already been sent to Josh's Patreon group, and is scheduled for release on February 28, so I think we can take it as a given.
We are now voting for our May read, instead of April, now that Josh’s book is coming out officially next week. Don’t forget to vote! https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2...

Thank you for mentioning it. I've read the first three books and I liked them so much that I bought the whole series on paper. But series are quite time consuming, so I never took it up again, even though I wanted.
BTW do you know what ''re-released'' means in this case? Just a new cover or so, or are there other changes?
I just want to remind you, if you haven't yet, please vote for our May BOM before the poll closes tomorrow night! https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2...

@antinella I think just new covers. I hear he us working on a prequel. The first isnt the best in the series, but the series is in my top 3...look forward to hearing what everyone thinks!

Thank you! Maybe I'll finally manage to read the whole series...

Heads up -- according to the author, Love is a Stranger will be on sale for $1.99 on Amazon from March 19 - 21.

I’ve already moved the books around on the shelves! I just forgot to tell you all I’d done that. Oops. lol. Anyway, yes, Bell, Book, and Scandal is our April read!
Our BOM discussion for Josh's Bell, Book and Scandal is up!

So listen. I'm trying to have a book out just about every month through the fall, which means you should probably go ahead and do a couple of these discussions of other author books that readers are longing to talk about. They've been postponed so many times now!
You can always list my book-du-jour as something additional for those who want to chime in with their thoughts. I do always find those comments and insights interesting--and sometimes truly helpful when planning the next books. ;-)

From my perspective, my two *big* books for discussion will be the final Holmes & Moriarity and the final Art of Murder.
And those will be in July and September. H&M is going to be bumped back a little bit because--pre-epiphany--I did schedule this year WAY too tight.

IF the final Art of Murder is the FINAL Art of Murder. I'm not sure I'll really have the answer to that until I write The Movie-Town Murders. I think it's the final one. But I have this niggling doubt in the back of my mind...
That's pretty awesome!
Since you are doing a lot of the Secrets and Scrabble books, as I recall, we could easily do a double read those months, or just do a bunch chat where we talk about 2-3 of them at once.
What do others think?
We would definitely want to chat up the final H&M and AofM books though for absolutely sure!!!! ooooohhhhhhhh...... Now I'm getting excited. You know, there is something for an ongoing series, but there's also something for knowing the ending is coming and that new stories will follow... There'a fine line, I think. lol.

It's not like the other titles are going to get stale or anything if we don't read them right away. And I will want to read Josh's books as soon as they come out (MMRG Scavenger Hunt duties notwithstanding), so if we postpose discussing them, I might not remember them so well by the time we do.
And this is just me, but with the scavenger hunt, I probably won't be able to read more than one off-hunt book per month, so if I do it will always be Josh's new one, rather than the book-of-the-month.

That's good to know. I've not read anything by T.J. Klune before, I don't think. Honestly, I think this is the first one that looked interesting to me.
And yes, most libraries should have it. I know mine does on Overdrive in Audio and ebook formats. :-)
I think I bought it on sale, as I own it, and I think I also got the audiobook too, if I'm not mistaken. It was probably linked pricing, I bet.
