I definitely prefer a title that a number of us haven't read, just because it's fun to discover together. But I know what Karen means -- getting to experience a book you loved through the eyes of someone just discovering it is almost like getting to read the book for the first time again.

Given the fact that I rarely have time to do more than pop my head in on these discussions, I really shouldn't be getting too picky. :-)

Agreed. If most people either haven't read it, or we all read it 10+ years ago or something, that helps make something a little more interesting. It appears that there is a good number here who haven't read it. And here I thought I'd be the only one!

The Hardest Thing: A Dan Stagg Mystery was nominated by MtSnow (but no poll was done so I keep that one on the list) and supported by KC and me.

Duet was nominated by Jordan (let me know if you still want to nominate that one, Jordan, or want to switch to The Brothers Bishop). Any supporters?

The Brothers Bishop was considered on the "What else are you reading" topic. Please, let me know if you guys want to nominate it!

Anne and I have both read it and liked it A LOT. Although we're maybe a bit hesitant to reread it and experience the total feel of inevitable train wreck it makes us feel. :-)

Golly. I actually own all of these. That never happens. So obviously, I'd be pleased with any of the selections. The Hardest Thing is been next-but-one on my infinitely-shuffling-TBR list for a while. Duet was an impulse buy a while ago, but some other shiny bobble distracted be before I could actually read it. Brothers Bishop's savage beauty would make for an interesting discussion. I found it a bit like being run over by a tank, but such books are often great to talk about. As therapy if for no other reason.

I found a little bargain on Barnes & Noble a couple of weeks ago that might be worth thinking about sometime. In a single volume, Garry Ryan's Queen's Park, Lucky Elephant Restaurant and A Hummingbird Dance (So three for the price of one.) I understand the books are well-regarded, but can't vouch for them otherwise. Yet.

I think that savage beauty is a perfect way to describe this book. As well as the run over by a tank expression. :-)

I loved The Hardest Thing: A Dan Stagg Mystery so i'd be happy to reread it for BOM.
