Awesomeness! Yes, it was a great read. JCP said it's coming out in print someday, so since I read the serialized version, I'm waiting to see that beautiful cover in print.

In the meantime, this month, I'm going to read her Zero Hour, which I have yet to read. Can't wait! I love that cover too.

Good. I've read Magic Mansion already, so I will take part in the discussion gladly. :)

I'm not quite to the halfway mark for Magic Mansion by Jordan Castillo Price and I am LOVING it.

I spent yesterday and read JCP's Zero Hour all day. It was just an amazing way to spend the day. I think I'd feel the same way if I'd gotten a chance to read Magic Mansion that way too. Can't wait to see that beautiful cover in print!

Hmm... I feel that I have to do some Magic Mansion re-reading before the monthly discussion. I'm not complaining though... :)

message 907: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) | 15348 comments Mod
lol, I wouldn't complain about that! That was a great book. I'm hoping my recent reading, even though it was serialized, will get me through the discussion. But we'll see.

Just finished that today, awesome book!

message 909: by Reggie (new)

Reggie In the spirit of supporting Josh's typing sabbatical, I was wondering if we could do a Josh book next month. It was fun when we read The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks together. What do you all think?

We could do the 1st AE book? or.......

message 910: by Antonella (new)

Antonella | 11568 comments That's an excellent idea, dear Reggie! Why didn't we think of it before?

I'm absolutely in favor.

message 911: by Sara (new)

Sara (hambel) | 1439 comments Sounds like fun, Reggie. Count me in for whatever book we choose.

message 912: by Liade (new)

Liade | 397 comments YES!

message 913: by mc (new)

mc | 1308 comments I'm always about two months late and a dollar short to these events, but Reggie, I think that's a great idea. I'm in.

Now, how do we decide on which book?! That would be the mother of all polls.

message 914: by Josephine (new)

Josephine Myles (josephine_myles) | 25 comments I loved The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks - I'd be very happy to read it again to refresh my memory :)

Johanna | 18130 comments Mod
Great idea, Reggie! But I wish it would be something else than The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks since some of us read it together and discussed about it on The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks thread in January.

How about Come Unto These Yellow Sands or Fair Game? Or how about Somebody Killed His Editor to refresh our memory while waiting the third Holmes & Moriarity book to be released (or would that add too much pressure on Mr. Sabbatical)?

The first AE book, which Reggie suggested, sounds good to me too. Anything from Josh, really. :)

message 916: by Susinok (new)

Susinok | 5205 comments I'd love to re-read Come Unto These Yellow Sands or Somebody Killed His Editor. They are both on my re-read soon list.

Cleon Lee | 2235 comments Another vote for Somebody Killed His Editor! I love love LOVE H&M series. :)

message 918: by Tamela (last edited Jul 08, 2012 07:02AM) (new)

Tamela (tameladb) | 16 comments Somebody Killed His Editor was my first Josh Lanson book. I would love to re-read!!! Just finished Come Unto These Yellow Sands for the M/M book of the month.

message 919: by mc (new)

mc | 1308 comments I will admit that I have not read either book though I've owned them for a long while, because they are in my "Do Not Crack Open Except in Case of Emergency" category. So, either one is fine, though I may be tending toward Somebody Killed His Editor. I'd be happy with whichever one the group chooses.

message 920: by Josephine (new)

Josephine Myles (josephine_myles) | 25 comments I'll happily read Somebody Killed His Editor again - I have nothing but good memories of that book. That's not to say I didn't love Come Unto These Yellow Sands too, but I think I'm in the mood for something lighter right now.

Calathea | 6034 comments Shouldn't we ask our host if he's okay with it before making plans? *justthinking*

message 922: by Reggie (last edited Jul 08, 2012 10:00AM) (new)

Reggie Yes, of course, final veto is Josh's. So we can wait 'til Fearless Leader checks in or someone hears from him.

Josh- You may want to designate an assistant Moderator(for the BOM thread) so you can relax in peace?

message 923: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) | 15348 comments Mod
Well, as I seem to recall, the reason we never read Josh's books before was because he wanted to participate in the discussion and he can't if it's about his own book.

That being said, it's up to him.

However, if we do go with one of his, I have yet to read Come unto these yellow sands, or somebody killed his editor, or fair game.

lol, I'm playing catch up this week! I swear!

If we don't do a Josh book, I'll throw Mongrel by KZ Snow out there, or Barging In by Jo Myles.

You've definitely got a point there, Jordan! Well, we could organize a group read on Somebody Killed His Editor under the Story Discussions and The Holmes & Moriarity series ourselves and have another book from another author as The Book of the Month, so that Josh too can participate.

I second reading Somebody Killed his Editor on a separate thread and reading Mongrel here. Barging In is also a nice story, but being selfish I go for Mongrel since that is on my TBR list already :)

message 926: by Susinok (new)

Susinok | 5205 comments Oh Mongrel was fun! I loved that book.

I just finished Mongrel and it's a FABULOUS book. Even if I think (view spoiler)

message 928: by Allison (new)

Allison (aah92) | 41 comments I'm going to vote for Barging In because it seems like more of a summer read to me but I'm good w/either really. :0)

message 929: by Liade (new)

Liade | 397 comments I think if for once we do discuss one of Josh's books (which I am still in favour of) it would give him more time to rest his wrists and also on the other hand the fun option of adding a unique author's perspective to the discussion. Also I am not sure it's such a good idea to have two book discussions going on at the same time.

message 930: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) | 15348 comments Mod
Well, all of them are on my TBR list, so i can go along with whatever ya'll decide. lol. Just finished reading A Vintage Affair. Guess that Southern twang thing rubbed off a little.

message 931: by Pender (new)

Pender | 638 comments I haven't had time to participate lately but I'm keen to (re)read any of these. The only one I haven't read is Barging In.

I had thought of this as well. I'm for one book at the time.

Sorry to have been so scarce. I'm doing my best to stay offline!

So this sounds perfect. I'll avoid the bloodbath till it's all over. :-D

That's right. We've all been harboring so much resentment and dislike of you, Josh. Finally we get to release that. Muahahahahahaha!

So long as money is not forged, we're good.

Maybe we should do a compare and contrast a la a Comparative Literature course. I'm sure that won't take up too long a conversation, oh say, the remainder of 2012. :-)

And let me say up front, I'm a lover, not a fighter.

Calathea | 6034 comments Do you want to go chapter by chapter or like always compare notes at the end of the month?

message 946: by Antonella (new)

Antonella | 11568 comments I liked a lot when we (that is mainly Manu and Johanna ;-), as far as I remember) went chapter by chapter for TGWYS. Like that your attention goes also to details that maybe you wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

message 947: by Becky (new)

Becky (fibrobabe) | 1052 comments Maybe we should do what we end up doing in every other thread. Everybody reads a different Lanyon title, and then we all discuss something completely off topic!

I'm up for it, but how exactly does that work?

That's very funny, Becky. We do go off on tangents, don't we? But we all seem to end up in the same place, right?

Antonella | 11568 comments mc wrote: "I'm up for it, but how exactly does that work?"

I quote Manu's words:

''What about reading a couple of chapters a day and rave about it?''

((message 129: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...))

The detailed discussion on TGWYS started after that.

Thank you for supplying the link. I'm a little bit involved in education at high school in Japan, so the discussion in the link is really intriguing.
