Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion
Let's Talk About: Your Books
>
What's your current book AND page count?
I'm currently reading book 23. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez and I've read 9132 pages so far (not including pages I've read in book 23)
I'm at 23,960 pages and 71 books for 2011. Page count doesn't include current books. I'm kind of in a reading slump- only finished 1 book in March. So, I keep starting books- I have 15 books I'm in some stage of reading.
I just started book 60 last night. My page count is 21,291. My pile of books that I own and need to read is dwindling to a sad amount.
I've read 49 books for a total of 15,944 pages. I've only counted 45 of those towards my serious reader's challenge, because a couple of them are super short novellas or children's books that I didn't feel right to count as a single entry in the challenge. My goal for the year is 300 books, so as long as I can maintain a similar pace for the next few months (and I'll probably be at a much faster pace during the summer), I should be able to make my goal! :)

This is so neat thank you for posting this!
I've not read nearly as much as everyone else
I'm on book #26 and I've read 7,012 pages so far this year.
What a great idea, I hope it's alright, I'm gonna post this idea on another group I frequent
Thanks Sashana!

A 150 page book and a 1000 page book average out to almost a 600 page book. As long as my average pages per book is over 300, I have no problem counting short books. I mean, you don't get to count 1,000 page books as three books, right?

I think if they were over 100 I would probably count them, because I have read some longer books, but these ones were just free e-books from an author's website. When I downloaded them in pdf they were like 30-40 pages. And I did a re-read of the children's book Charlotte's Web, which only took me an hr so I didn't count it, although I'm not sure how many pages it was. I just really want to reach my goal of 300, but I feel like I want to reach it properly, and I do want to challenge myself to read difficult books and books from many different genres. If I count too many 40 page ebooks it will feel like I cheated myself and didn't achieve my goal in the "right" way, if that makes any sense, haha.
I'm right there with you, Rachel, I am also doing very badly. My current number is 13 books and 4910 pages. I feel like I just don't have time to read at the moment.
You guys can be like me and make it up during Spring Break. My mantra is going to be eat. read. sleep.
Mine too, Sashana. I plan on making a huge trip to the library on Friday. This weekend I a doing everything I need to accomplish during spring break and then the rest is all MINE. :)
36 books and 11468 pages so far. I want to read 42 books by next week. I'm behind on my 150 book goal.
19 books at 5704 pages. I guess I should spend less time playing video games and more time reading books =P
Page Count 13,838 + page count for No Souvenirs reread. I've read 42 books (No Souvenirs reread doesn't add in to Goodreads count). I also didn't include short stories read online and not on Goodreads.
I've read 23 books and 7450 pages in those 23 books. I'm currently working on 24-30. One of those may not be finished though. It's kind of irritating me.
29 Books
13,912 pages
Hoping to get 100 Books in this year and I'm estimating that will put me around 45,000 pages (But I hope I hit 50,000)

I entered a 100,000 pages challenge a while back. I guess I didn't realize how much 100,000 pages is until now.
Books: 25Pages: 8,034
The longest one was The Name of the Wind (662 pages). My goal was 30,000 so I hope I'll get there!
Well, I think I'm definitely on target to beat last year's 30,650 pages. Right now I'm at:49 Books
17,675 Pages
and I'm almost done with World Without End, by Ken Follett, which is over 1,000 pages. :-)
