Restaurant dining is getting a bit scary again. Too many people being a bit careless even with new masking mandates in place again. Crowds
Children
Obviously unwell people hacking and coughing. Though I'll admit Hay Fever or similar may be in play.
Going to give it a week or more with what will be the post Labor Day surges. *Sigh*. I just got use to being around people again.
Some type of big chopped salad.
Yesterday I sauted one yellow and one orange bell pepper with chopped cilantro, and scrambled eggs into it. I didn't think it would be that good because the peppers are sweet, but it was surprisingly good.

Last night I made a NYTimes dish with Chickpeas, Orzo, Carrots, Celery, onion, fresh Rosemary and lots of spinach. It was delicious.

On an open fire?
Is Jack Frost anywhere near?"
Jack left town and only his brother Foggy Freddy was available.
The fire was contained but the chestnuts came out as planned.
Hope all had a Merry Christmas and now we await the New Year.
Oh, I've got more chestnuts.

Homemade rolls and plum jam.

I was thinking that too.
Though, i have to admit to, at the time, wishing it was asparagus.
For the New Year's Eve party of two at my house (Me and Dr. Cynthia:)pickled herring (for luck)
Hoppin' John (black-eyed peas, again for luck)
Italian Sausage and Kale Gratin

If that were my menu, I would need the good luck. My delicate digestion would certainly balk at the herring. Enjoy your evening & may that luck carry all the way through 2022!

Thanks, Phil! The Hoppin' John turned out great. I have enough to feed us for a week. Happy New Year, all.
