Thank you. We shall see when it actually happens. It's all tucked away in the freezer for now. Today's project: A lemon cake with fluffy coconut icing. Three layers. I am not a great baker, so this is a challenge for me.
Yeah, three layers is hard. Too hard for me (= I am very lazy). The last time I made a three layer cake was as a kid, with my mom....
But cakes are so expensive at the bakery it is probably worth it to put in all the effort yourself.

It was a nice break from politics and the other stuff in my life. It turned out well. The lemon curd was especially delicious.
Farro with brussels sprouts and chicken cilantro sausage. Wow that was so good. I think I'm going to go off rice and go on farro for awhile.
Pizza. It's Pi(e) Day!Pi Day. Pie Day. 3.14159265359 Day.
etc. etc. etcetra. etal.
Stop Me. Now.
I'm OK now . . .
Yesterday we looked at a possible retirement home in NE Iowa. It's all I can think about. Dinner last night was leftover Eggplant Parmesan. And crackers. Today I woke up with a head cold. So tonight's dinner needs to be some type of soup. Cheers, all.

For someone else?
For someone else?

No, for us. Looking for an older house with a bit of land, maybe a barn. This one was built in 1860 of Limestone. It was originally a high school for boys, Tete des Morts. My French is rusty, but I think that means Head of Death.
Today, I will do something I rarely do. I have some chicken breasts and some chicken thighs. I am going to cook them in a griddle pan and dice them and freeze them for quick future meals, like enchiladas or to add to vegetable stir frys. I feel like Suzie Homemaker. It's too cold and windy to go out. Wednesday's high temperature is supposed to be minus ten degrees. Good thing I have books.

Salmon, farro, broccoli romanesco. Which I thought would be like broccoli but is really like cauliflower.
Made bolognese sauce (what I do when I open a bottle of wine and don't like it, I put it into a meat sauce). Served over giant pasta which I won't be buying again, it was too enormous.
