I've ordered Thai food. Massaman Beef Curry for him and stir fried Chicken and Cashew Nut for me. Served with steamed Jasmine rice.
Fried up some bacon. Added yellow crook neck squash and some chopped onion. When it was tender, sprinkled some grated sharp cheese on top.
I have so many questions. Do you buy saffron and cook the rice, or is this something you buy already cooked? And I've never heard of apple sausage. Is it sausage flavored with apple? Apple flavored with sausage? And how are the brussels sprouts prepared? I know it's a lot.

The saffron is cooked in with the rice. A cheaper and equally tasty alternative is to use turmeric in the rice. A little olive oil mixed in with the rice frees more of the flavor of either saffron or turmeric and helps hold it into the rice. Some people use a rice bran oil.
Apple sausage is just a sausage that has apple mixed in during the grind and may or may not be applewood smoked.
Brussel Sprouts can be boiled, steamed, pressure cooked, sauteed, baked . . .
If they are large as in over an inch and half in length or diameter cut them in half lengthwise prior to cooking. Garlic butter is a classic prepartion for flavoring if the Sprouts are strong. Personally I like them boiled or steamed and then dipped in aioli or a flavored mustard.
Steamed carrot, zucchini and rice . Chicken breast marinated in soy sauce, garlic and honey and oven cooked.
I made Smitten Kitchen's recipe for Pasta with walnut pesto and charred eggplant. It was delicious. Check out her website for lots of inspiration.
Lime Chutney Chicken and a Quinoa and grape salad.( Healthy since the 4th is around the corner and THAT won't have anything healthy associated with it!!)
Roast chicken, mashed Yukon gold potatoes (rustic style, mix in some buttermilk dressing and parmesan cheese), leftover green beans.
Lamb cutlets with either salad or roast vegetables. If I'm the cook it will be salad and steamed potatoes.
Probably Italian sausages with rice, steamed green beans with olive oil. Not much besides that in the fridge.
I had leftover spicy pork and tofu from a Chinese restaurant, made fresh jade pearl rice to go with it.
good question. It's fundraiser season for John Paschen for Congress. Regular meals often consist of fundraiser leftovers. Happy holidays, Goodreads friends!
Happy Holidays to you, Cynthia.
I have what the internet calls a cheeseburger quiche in the oven, although I'm not really a fan of that name. Ground beef, onion, and parmesan is what's in it. Midway through the prep I spilled my beaten egg/milk mixture all over the counter. Oh well, as the Bible says, you win some, you lose some.

Boneless skinned chicken breasts wrapped in applewood smoked bacon. Rice and asparagus. Now to figure out dessert amid the 'Holiday Cheer'.
Cooked chicken from the supermarket. Salad of mixed leaf, purple onion, tomato and cucumber. Boiled potatoes and garlic bread. The leftovers will be my lunch tomorrow.
I am now officially an Iowan. I bought half a hog from a local farmer who I met at the farmer's market. So far it is wonderful, but I will be looking for recipes for pork, if anyone has a favorite. This weekend we had some pork steaks from the grill with a red wine marinade. Delicious.Friday I used a package of chorizo to fix tacos. Yum.
