Rice pilaf with broccoli and turnips.

evie (ecie) | 4445 comments Crumbed fish with baked potato, carrot and pumpkin and steamed beans. My daughter didn't like it, so she made herself some pasta.

message 2453: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never known anyone to actually eat pumpkin. We carve them for Halloween. And we buy some paste in a can to make pie...

message 2454: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Pumkin ravioli es good.

Susan | 6406 comments BunWat wrote: "Pumpkin muffins.

Also, that canned "pumpkin" paste is actually mostly winter squash, not pumpkin."

For reals?!

message 2456: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Is true.

message 2457: by [deleted user] (new)

So, I'm making "Winter Squash Pie" on Wednesday night? Hope the firefolks like Winter Squash pie, 'cause that's what they're getting this year!

message 2458: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH!

::licks lips::

That's what I ended up doing yesterday. It tied me over until dinnertime. I had a light dinner, too.

message 2461: by Chris (new)

Chris (bibliophile85) I'm thinking about making something light...possibly just grilled chicken salad or something.

Gotta keep the kitchen in pristine condition for tomorrow. I'm more than likely going to be up at the crack of dawn cooking :)

message 2462: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I have nothing for dinner tonight!!

::in a panic, starts to scramble about for cheese and crackers, maybe some cereal::

message 2463: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I'm NOT having pork guts for sure.

message 2464: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments That is a relief. I wouldn't, either.

message 2465: by [deleted user] (new)

Me either, Felarry. Just don't feel like pork guts...sheep guts, cow guts or chicken guts for that matter. I think guts are generally off the menu for tonight.

message 2466: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) You have to take a day off from guts once in a while.

message 2467: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments You have no guts.

message 2468: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4445 comments I had a nectarine and some grapes at work, and then some cheds with cottage cheese at home.

message 2469: by [deleted user] (new)

Trying to decide on a proper breakfast, or a big piece of leftover raspberry & blackberry pie...

message 2470: by [deleted user] (new)

Oooops, wrong thread. Thought this was the "last thing you ate" thread. Sorry.

message 2471: by Chris (new)

Chris (bibliophile85) Leftovers from last night.....definitely leftovers.

Lobstergirl | 24815 comments Mod
Yummy yummy leftovers.

message 2473: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I roasted a fresh turkey today. 'Twas very very good.

message 2474: by [deleted user] (new)

Leftovers. However, we had spaghetti carbonara for Thanksgiving dinner. :)

message 2475: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4445 comments Not sure yet. We are heading down to Circular Quay tonight for a stroll around the harbour. We will probably get some food while we are there.

evie (ecie) | 4445 comments Ricotta and spinach agnolotti.

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments Tuna and pasta bake with creamy spinach sauce.

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Planned: Minestrone. After cutting my thumb and still having to try to stop the bleeding I changed my mind to fusilli alla puttanesca. Requires no knife.

Penne with shrimp and asparagus in a creamy tomato basil sauce.

message 2480: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Baked spaghetti. Now I'm eating oreos with peanut butter.

message 2481: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Pizza.

message 2482: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments I had Steamables broccoli and a tablespoon or two of peanut butter. There's not much here to choose from, as we've been away a while. Even so, broccoli is a decent meal.

message 2483: by [deleted user] (new)

Jeepers, that's a feast! I wasn't hungry. Mr. Amy had to recycle the cold chicken.

message 2484: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4445 comments I made a beef pie, with boiled jacket potatoes and peas. I didn't make the pastry.

Boiled jacket potatoes? I thought jacket potatoes were baked potatoes. Are jacket potatoes in fact any potato you do not peel?

That's what I call them . Perhaps I should have said "boiled in their jackets."

They are the little washed potatoes.

message 2490: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't mean to insinuate that was weird or anything. I had only ever heard the term when I lived in England, and that was referring to baked. But, that didn't mean I wasn't missing part of the usual usage. I was just curious. Maybe you boiled them and then baked them? I might have learned some new culinary secret!

I thought I might have got it wrong, that's all :) You will probably learn very little from me about cooking. I left those jackets on because I was too lazy to peel them.

evie (ecie) | 4445 comments Lamb cutlets with mint sauce. Baked vegetables ad green beans.

Romaine and spinach salad with red onions, chickpeas, beets, sliced almonds, feta cheese, red peppers.

message 2494: by [deleted user] (new)

No idea. We're going to "midreach" tonight, so whatever they make? We don't normally go, in fact I've never gone, so I have no idea how it works.

message 2495: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Twice baked sweet potatoes stuffed with sautéed onions, spinach and cheese.
