Plain with your dinner or lunch, with melted butter, crumbled in soup, for dessert with syrup on it."Funny, I love cornbread- it's basically the same- is it not? I've made it a few times and my father can't stand it! I have no idea why.
That's what I thought. My dad likes to make polenta the traditional way, then he cuts it up and bakes it. Odd. Well, he's an ole' stick in the mud.
Esme wrote: "aha, so i made polenta today. with patience and love and focus. i didn't watch tv while making it. i didn't talk on the phone. i just stirred my little heart out. and it worked, yay! i added spicy..."
Glad it worked, sweetie. I would have eaten your polenta!
Its bad enough having tuna breath Helena. I hope you can leave work soon.
Not soon enough. Luckily, I work with very few people, and it just so happens that they had tuna for dinner also.
Wanted Enchiladas last night, but was too lazy to make them so I bought the frozen ones. Yeck! I don't suggest it.
hopefully a nice salad. with boiled eggs if they turn out alright *crosses fingers*

Justin, you are quickly losing any charm you once had.
He was given the opportunity to be found charming.
sunchips and organic milk with some of that gunky-looking shit in the back of the fridge.

I'm going to start with an Annie Chun miso bowl. It looks so small I'm sure it will just be an appetizer.
I don't think they're grown around here since I've never ever ever seen them. I'm so ready for good local produce again. Watching my CSA's updates about the weather with great concern.
im going to try boxed pasta today, which sounds waaay much easier than homemade pasta that my mother's been trying to teach me how to make all my life. i picked some up before school, and if all goes well, my friends and i will be eating prosciutto ravioli tonight.
otherwise there's always chinese takeout.

My friend made THE best white chicken chili last night, so I decided I'm gonna make myself a pot of it tonight. :)
Oh, and she served it with a kale, avocado, onion, & lemon juice salad... and some gluten free cornbread. I'd like some of that tonight, too. Yummo.
Heidi wrote: "My friend made THE best white chicken chili last night, so I decided I'm gonna make myself a pot of it tonight. :)"I have a good recipe for turkey white bean chili--it has cumin and cocoa powder in it. And some spicy stuff too. It's still cold enough for chili here.
Heidi:OK I am having trouble linking it properly. Go to epicurious.com and do a recipe search for Turkey Chili with White Beans (Bon Appetit, Feb. 1997.)
The recipe calls for ground turkey, I prefer to dice up a turkey breast or two--better texture.
You are so welcome. I love talking about recipes. My day was made twice last week when each of my daughters called me to ask about a recipe they were working on. My mama heart soared.
After a big meat day yesterday (bibimbap and Korean barbequed pork), I'm having yellow rice with chickpeas and kale tonight.
A box of powdered jelly doughnuts and a chocolate bar.
My dad says my maturity will kick in anyday now. In my defense, I burn it all off by the next day. I have a salad for lunch, if that makes it better?
It's a chicken salad. Protien's in meat right?
