Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Tonight, I will eat whatever my sisters in law cook for me. Probably brats on the grill. It's summer in Iowa, after all. I hope there is sweet corn, too.

message 1859: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Where are you getting your sweet corn from? The corn crops around here are almost all a disaster.

message 1860: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I haven't had decent sweet corn since I moved away from Lancaster PA. Cornhuskers, my ass.

I'm not sure I would mention corn and your ass in the same sentence Larrix.

I need to get back to my roots . There's nothing like a fresh carrot plucked from the earth, washed with tap water and consumed while sitting on the grass in the shade of the old willow tree.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Jim wrote: "Where are you getting your sweet corn from? The corn crops around here are almost all a disaster."

There is local sweet corn, though only from farmers who planted around St.Patrick's Day. Those who planted later are left with withering brown stalks.
