You might know it better by "Doner kebab" but if not here is a recipe:

Ingredients:
•Meat Mixture:
•1 lb. ground lamb (or beef)
•1/4 cup minced red onion
•2 cloves garlic, minced
•2 tsp. salt
•1 tsp. black pepper
•1 1/2 tsp. cumin
•1/4 tsp. nutmeg
•1 tsp. dried oregano
•2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
•Sandwich:
•4 rounds of flat bread or pita.
•lettuce
•tomato; sliced
•cucumber ranch

Preparation:

Meat mixture
1. Thoroughly combine all ingredients in a bowl.

2. Divide into four equal portions and shape into oblong patties about 3" wide, 6" long, 1/2" thick. Refrigerate for an hour.

Sandwich
3. Grill patties over a hot fire for 3 - 4 minutes per side.

4. Spread cucumber ranch down the center of a flat bread round, add a lettuce leaf, add some diced tomato. Add the patty, fold the bread over the lamb, and enjoy.

Linda (lindacee) | 292 comments Techinally I've already had supper but I'm HUNGRY, just wish I knew what I wanted......

Anyway for supper I had Baked fish with italian seasoning (although the cajun smelled really good) broccoli casserole and a fruit salad that was called disgusting by my house-mates (what's wrong with peaches, bananas and blackberry jelly?)

Agreed!!! But I settle for the faux because I can't afford the yummy meat. There is a resturant nearby that has the real thing (and a yummy greek salad too!) but I don't eat out much.

Me too! Courtesy of wikipedia:

"Spaghetti alla puttanesca (literally "whore's style spaghetti" in Italian) is a spicy, tangy, somewhat salty Italian pasta dish invented in the mid-20th century."

I'm reminded of the restaurant scene near the end of the movie, "Michael," where the waiter is describing the dishes on the menu and every one of them includes, "ahn-jel hair pasta" (that's a soft "j").
