I think you said exactly what you meant! ;)

Lynda I'm making fennel and olive risotto from the cookbook I am reading now.

It looks like I'm just going to graze. I just ate 3 hard-cooked eggs and I think in a little bit I'll have an apple with some peanut butter, followed by some hot tea.

message 1055: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments Maybe some soup. Maybe something else. Nothing big. Wife has a massage scheduled so she's picking up something before that, son had leftovers from last night.

message 1056: by Mary (new)

Mary (merrussell) Chicken in chili sauce, oven roasted potato wedges and salad.

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I have 1400 calories left in my allowance for the day, so something good.

message 1061: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments 1400 left? Holy cow! You must have skipped breakfast and lunch.

I allow up to 1800 calories daily, and have only 600 left for dinner. I'm making tacos, so only two small ones for me.

Dirty rice, sweet potatoes, green beans.

message 1063: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I only get 1800 a day, but if I exercise I get more. I did eat a small breakfast and lunch, and a couple snacks, but nothing major. I had a peanut butter/honey/banana sandwich for dinner with applesauce and a 100 calorie pack and a glass of milk. I still have about 700 calories left.

Lynda Lobstergirl wrote: "Dirty rice, sweet potatoes, green beans."

I love dirty rice. Do you make it from scratch? Do you use chicken or turkey gizzards?

message 1065: by Lynda (new)

Lynda I am going to have Hormel Chili and Spuds. I slept most of the afternoon and haven't eaten yet.

I've made it from various recipes - not using gizzards, though.

message 1067: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4445 comments Gizzards sounds like something Granny Clampett might use in a recipe

message 1068: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments I don't like to count calories. I made a chicken curry and rice something.

message 1070: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments According the the label on my protein bar I had for breakfast/lunch, I've had 190 calories today plus whatever is in two cups of coffee with cream and sugar. Very hungry right now. I'm hoping to have chipotle for dinner.

message 1071: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments The coffee with cream & sugar is probably about 100 calories (each 10oz cup). It depends on how much coffee, how much cream and how much sugar you're ingesting.

message 1072: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Had a big lunch, so not much for dinner. Still full--Hoppin' John and some mixed berry pie.

message 1073: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments Caesar salad for dinner tonight. Actually, a plain salad for me, because I don't use the dressing.

Tomato basil soup from the deli, toasted cheese sandwich.

message 1075: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I made a quick meat sauce by just adding some cooked ground sirloin and a laughing cow cheese square to spaghetti sauce. I put that over mini farfalle.

message 1076: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Veggie chili over Texmati rice.

message 1077: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Cream cheese stuffed baked potato with green salad

message 1078: by Linda (new)

Linda (lindacee) | 292 comments Sandwich :(
But for dessert I had my choice of German chocolate cake or sugar-free vegan fudge (no chocolate in it but it's still pretty good, like vanilla fudge)

message 1079: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments Big Mac and a coke. It was delicious. It was Mr. Helenie’s turn to cook dinner- he had coupons and a gift card. No way he was going to cook anything.

turkey, avocado, balsamic mayo, gouda cheese, and bacon on a wheat bun (I honestly don't remember why we named Hooie but I think my house-mate came up with it)

message 1094: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Speaking of the French, did you hear their fearless leader after the loss of French soldiers in Afghanistan? He said something about pulling troops out, as they could not be guaranteed safety. I nearly spit my coffee out my nose. Is not that kind of a givien with life in the military?

message 1095: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Cynthia, you're talking about the French military. As soon as anything gets too tough, they either leave or surrender! Why do you think that France was split in two during WWII!

message 1096: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Cheese-eating surrender monkeys.
