I'll have to try that casserole. Or some version of it. I don't think I can deal with that much shredded cheddar.

message 803: by Phil (last edited Nov 01, 2011 04:46PM) (new)

Phil | 11850 comments The two pounds of ground beef would throw me off. Is this for feeding an army?

message 804: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
You're right, that is a lot.

message 805: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
Wild rice, roasted beets, green beans.

message 806: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments Probably soup tonight. Or tamales if Mrs. Phil would prefer. They're frozen, not homemade fresh like we used to have.

message 807: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) We had a Hispanic fiesta for our last Spanish class of the season. Excellent!

message 808: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments We had the soup, and I made some blueberry muffins to go with it. Mrs. Phil loooooved it. The father-in-law grumbled, "that's not supper."

Yeah? Then make your own.

DAMN, Grandpa is a fucking GRUMP. Was he always this grumpy, or is it the grieving process?

message 810: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments I think he's feeling old. Also, he spent the afternoon watching a WWII documentary, which always depresses him. I was in the other room and kept hearing Hitler shouting to his supporters.

message 811: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
Those WWII documentaries always seem to cheer up my father. The thing that puts him in a funk is football, when his team loses.

message 812: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Wow your father must be about 150 years old.

message 813: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Special birthday dinner for my husband: New York strip steak, shrimp, mashed potatoes and carrots with homemade honey butter glaze.

message 814: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That sounds luscious, Amber. He's a lucky man.

message 815: by Lori (new)

Lori | 181 comments An old topic, but still a good one....

Barbecued chicken, yellow rice, and string beans. And Fudge Brownie ice cream.

message 816: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments I have a bit of a head cold, so I’ll be having hot and sour soup.

message 817: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
Yummy.

message 818: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments I will. The hot and sour soup worked quite well for clearing the head. I’m feeling much less stuffy now. :)

message 819: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) P F Chang has the best hot & sour.

I agree with Phil's father in law. Soup and muffins does not a supper make.

I had tacos al pastor and now I'm eating chocolate cookies.

message 821: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
Tacos with the pastor?

message 822: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Country style.

message 823: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments I was going to make bbq chicken, but now I have to drive out to my mom's house and I won't get home until after 9. So, fast food it is.

message 824: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Trader Joe's orange chicken.

message 825: by Stina (new)

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments I am using my crock pot for the THIRD time ever... Taco Soup will be waiting for me when I go home. Can't wait!

message 826: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments I have no idea. My wife is taking her sister to "girls' night out" at Iggy's restaurant. The boys? We're on our own. I'm hoping my brother-in-law will take his son and 'grandpa' to the same joint so it will be quiet here for just a few moments.

message 827: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
I don't know....I'm waiting for my stomach ache to end, then maybe I'll have a bagel and some tea.

message 828: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
Fettucine alfredo with broccoli.

message 829: by Stina (new)

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments Take-out Chinese food.

message 830: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments My wife is having the rest of the steak she didn't finish last night. My son asked for the rest of mine, so I'm going with mashed sweet potato. And yes, that will be my entire dinner.

message 831: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments A cheesburger.

message 832: by Emily (new)

Emily Pasta with walnut sauce

Spaghetti squash with meat sauce.

message 834: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Apparently, my husband is taking me out to dinner tonight. So I have no idea.

Nachos.

message 836: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Nacho cuppa tea?

message 837: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
Perhaps tea later.

message 838: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments A cream of broccoli soup I found at Costco, with some rosemary & olive oil bread from the same source.

Costco lunch, Costco dinner.

message 839: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
Rajma masala (red kidney bean curry) on brown rice.

message 840: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Thin crust cheese pizza from Old Chicago.

message 841: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Spaghetti O's. I was too lazy for anything else.

message 842: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments A waffle, absolutely smothered in fresh raspberries and blueberries, with a touch (just a touch) of maple syrup and a glass of milk.

message 843: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24812 comments Mod
See, I don't get the combining of fruit and syrup. It seems to me like you have one or the other. For me, it's always syrup.

message 844: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments In this case, the syrup was a softening agent for the waffle. Not that I make hard waffles, just that I like them a little squishier.

message 845: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Risotto with asiago cheese.

message 846: by Cyril (new)

Cyril I made some pizza dough last night, tonight I'll have a go at making pizza for the first time.

message 847: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I love making home made pizza, hope it turns out well Cyril.

message 848: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11850 comments We're going to the Dickens Festival tonight, so I have no idea what I'll be eating.

The whole Dickens thing is really just a shopping event with the same vendors as most of the other holiday shows at our convention center. The difference is that they keep it darker and they have a set path through the shops. It's meant to resemble an evening stroll through an old English shopping district. They also have carolers.

message 849: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) We have those here in Omaha, too.
