Grilled cheese got burned. So a mango salad for dinner tonight.
I would have liked some biscuits. I had poached salmon and a small salad, but biscuits would have rounded out the meal.
Actually large portions of the menu do seem very reasonably priced. (The melon in season is even free.) You can buy rye bread with butter for $2.50, oddly enough.

We made savory asparagus-mushroom bread pudding for dinner last night. It was fantastic. I'll be eating it for lunch again today.
Saturday night's dinner was a big win--scallops Provencal--scallops seared in a dry cast iron skillet, tossed with diced fresh tomatoes, garlic and shallots. I threw in some olives at the end. I ate the leftovers this morning.

They were about $12 a pound. Since I'm the only one who can eat them in my house, I decided it was a bit extravagant.
Later I got a small pack of frozen ones at Trader Joes at much more reasonable price.
I can't wait to eat them.

I have to thaw them thoroughly, then let them dry on newspaper topped with paper towels. Got to be dry to get a good sear on them.
Never heard of Kefalograviera before, but Wikipedia helpfully points out that it is "very similar to Kefalotyri."
So, so true. Those wikipedia writers are really earning their pay.
It actually has a familiar taste to me, but it doesn't taste like some other cheese I've had, so I'm not sure what it's reminding me of.

More or less. Not as aromatic as that would suggest. It's a hard, crumbly cheese, better for grating than cutting.
I don't like it as much as the Amish cheese I also bought, which is the consistency of Havarti but more flavorful.

I’m attempting tom yum with oyster mushrooms, green papaya slaw and grilled sticky chicken. Looks pretty easy...
You’re more than welcome LG... but I’m tempted by your jambalaya, I love jambalaya- haven’t made that in a while.Dinner turned out great! Pretty easy too, here’s the link for the recipes, if you’re interested:
