averil looked at damon, "me and emma are spliting off after we get our food, Marita,Mc'laughin and you are welcome to join us." averil smiled

Penny petted Lucky. "We're heading out in two days.... we want to see if there are others around here who are safe..."

"Hmm" he muses, "So I have to make a choice don't I"

Penny sighed. "yeah... they have a car though. We don't. I won't be offended if you join their group...."

[Cody, Ninja]

"Why don't you come along with them" he asks.

"They didn't ask. I already invited them to join my group, but they refused..." Penny walked over to the fire and got some soup out of the pot.

emma smiled at buck and hoped up into the cart with him, then emma looked over at penny and the new guy and frowned

Damon nodded slightly "Alright." he said to Averil.

"It would be best if we all stick together, a bigger party means better protection from raiders and a larger pool of skills to pull from." he announces.

"I agree, but I'm not going to force them to join my group..." Penny said quietly.

He grimaces and looks at the other larger group "Take her in she can help"

"Nooo. I don't want to join their group. I went them to join mine." Penny said. "My group is larger, so it makes sense for them to join mine...." That, and she wanted to give the orders instead of receiving their orders.

Arianna clutched tightly to the knife in her hand, she never liked using violence, but in this post-apocalyptic world she never knew what was out to hurt her. Arianna had been wandering for days hoping someone would find her and help her.

Mc'laughin stood and shook his head "The offical's won't let me into D.C. Remember I'm 'CRAZY'.

"I don't think they'll let me in either." Penny stopped talking for a moment as she came up with a quick lie, "I don't think I'm immune to the disease, so.... yeah. I can't go in. But I'm still heading over there."

"Hm" he says "Who's the leader of each group he asks"

"I'm in charge of my group, and Emma is in charge of their group..." Penny answered as she started eating. "You can eat if you'd like...."

He takes a small amount of food and begins to eat "And who is part of each group?"

"I have me, Daisy, Lucky, and three others. More if any of this lot," She gestured to those she had only just met today, "decide to join. Emma and Averil have Damon... but I think that's it so far."

"And me in the middle" he mutters.

"You, Mc'laughin, and Marita. Yeah." Penny ate some more of her food.

He sneers "Who wants to be lead by me then" he says "Out of everyone here I would consider myself quite a bit qualified to lead and keep us all alive"

"Can't we stay together without merging groups?" Marita asked, looking for a peaceful solution.

"I'm not being led by you. This group had survived quite well without you. You either join and listen to me, or you go with someone else. And no, Marita. We need to merge groups." Penny finished off her food.

[Cody, Ninja]

"Why won't you be lead by me, for one I actually know the way to D.C from here." he tells her "For two to get into D.C you will need some sort of government credential to even be considered for access" he shows his badge "Need I go on"

"You may join us, but I don't want to be lead by you." I don't think you'd approve of how we do things... She thought as she set her bowl down for Lucky to lick.

"If I just join your group I will eventually begin demanding things of you anyways to make the group more efficient, so instead of dealing with that later why not just start with it" he tells her matter-of-factly.

"Neither me, nor my group trusts you yet. You'll have problems getting us to listen. Either you do as I say, or you don't join," Penny insisted.

He laughs heartily "Do as a little girl says, how interesting"

Penny's cheeks went red with anger and she hissed, "I have kept my team alive through four bad earthquakes, two big tornadoes, one hurricane, several plagued states, a TON of crazy lunatics attacking, and have managed to keep us having enough food and clean water. We don't need you. We can survive without you, as we have for the last year. If you want to join us, you listen to me or you don't join."

[Cody, Ninja]

"Oh" he chuckles a little "Good job, how many lives have you lost though" he asks.

"Three. But they got sick so we had to kill them." Penny answered.

His face goes grave suddenly "You have been quite lucky haven't you, but understand I have been living in post apocalyptic conditions since before the apocalypse, well except for that last five years. I have years of experience on you I have been attacked by entire bands of raiders and fended them off alone. We live in the same area I have survived all the natural disasters you have. I have even sacrificed myself for my last group" a tear falls down his cheek "I wasn't supposed to survive that"

"Well that's all fine and dandy, but you aren't taking over my group." Penny said stubbornly. "You are welcome to join and make suggestions on how things are run, but you aren't allowed to take over. This is MY group of people."

"Why not co lead, we become equal" he tells her.

"I don't even trust you yet. You could be a conman trying to take our supplies. Your story is a bit far out there.... I repeat: you can join and make suggestions, but no taking over. At least not unless the group all decides to follow you instead of me. Which they won't do. They're loyal to me, and themselves. Nobody else.

"Hm, don't boss me around and I'll join"

"As long as you don't do anything to cause problems in the group, or do anything that could harm the group, or try and tell us not to do what we've been doing all along... then fine." Penny nodded a little.

"Very well, I won't harm anything but I will make suggestions to improve efficiency" he says.

"Okay. But keep in mind that that doesn't mean we'll listen." Penny smiled a little. "Glad to have you in the group."

"Keep in mind, I'm convincing" he smirks "Thanks."

Penny rolled her eyes a little, then glanced over at Daisy. "Hey, can you get the others over here. They need to meet the latest member to our little group."
Daisy nodded silently and ran off to go find the others.

Gwyn puts his AK back on his back and sits by the fire "It's cold" he mutters.

"Of course it is." Penny sighed and tossed another log on the fire. Watching the sparks fly up into the night.

"Winter is taking forever to let go" he mutters.

She looked back and forth between the two groups, before looking back at penny. "How much bread do you want for two bowls of soup?" She handed her the pillow case of bread. It was filled with breads of various sizes and shapes, and various kinds. Two had apple chunks in them, most had some bits of grain, one had sugar, and three had oats.

"Hm..." She took one loaf of bread with oats in it. "You can stay in someones tent for the night if you'd like. Even if you decide not to join us. We won't kick you out into the cold..."
