When she felt she had secured that boarder she went back over her original boarder. Some fire had escaped, and she feverishly stamped and dirted it out. Then a tree in the open box of fire looked like it might catch, and she dirted it. Then she worked on the last side of the box, trying to keep an eye on the rest of it as she did so. She could feel her body burning and some of her cloths melting a bit, but she ignored it.
"Don't order me around. We'll move at whatever pace we want." She slowed down walking. "Gosh, it's like midnight and we're all exhausted..."

"I never said we were going to stop." Penny rolled her eyes. "We aren't stupid."
She finished the side. Good. She feverishly patrolled the sides and thickened the no-fuel lines and stamped out fires and buried defiant embers.

Gwyn rolls his eyes but doesn't say anything.
Penny pulled out a piece of her bear jerky and chewed on it as she walked.
No! A tree had cought. If it fell, it would not be good. If the leaves caught on fire and blew about, it definitely would not be good. She began pelting it with dirt.
averil smiled as everyone loaded up onto the 4-wheelers "so i think we should go into the woods." averil told emma "make sure the stuff is straped down tight." she told her a she attached the gun on the front hood of th 4 wheeleremma did as she was told and they were soon off
Damon nodded slightly "So......this is the wonders of the world....." he muttered.
averil led then far into the woods about 5 miles away from the city "you think we should stop here?" averil asked damon
Damon looked to her "Yeah we can."
averil nodded and stoped the 4 wheeler Emma pulled up and looked over "were stoping?"
Damon looked to Emma "For right now yes."
emma nodded "ok should i sent up?" emma asked averil and when averil nodded emma started seting up the tent the she paused "and i senting up two tents?"
Damon's brow rose slightly and he looked to Averil.
averil chuckled "ummm how many do we have?"emma looked in the trailer "we have a big one and a little one."
Damon shut his eyed and slowly breathed before saying "I'll sleep outside....."
((Where are we? I was thinking we were somewhere in the mid west in the winter, but I was looking around today and I didn't find anyplace where it said that.))

Eventually the fire finished burning out, contained in the borders she had made. Marita doused it with dirt. She saved some of the fire and brought it over the the camp site that Penny's group had occupied and built a little fire, sitting down on a log, tired and painful.

She put her hands to her face. Both here hot, tender, and raw. Little beads of liquid were forming on the burns throughout her body, accompanied by various blisters. She looked at the places on her jacket where the synthetic material had melted, some of it onto her skin. The poison ivy that had been on her legs for ages itched mercilessly, and she pulled off one of her boots carefully, because of the condition of the body parts involved, to reveal a stained and worn strip of gauze bandaging that ran from high on her leg to her toes. She unwrapped part of it to examine red sores, seeping wounds, and large blisters. She turned her body and laid back on the log, stretching her exposed leg out to receive the cold breeze. The other leg she let hang on the ground. She stared up at the dark sky, a blanket of black specked with stars. She listened to herself breath. The fire crackle. The wolfs and coyotes howl. Alone again, in the big, big world. Alone except for the whispering winds, the animals, the spirits of the trees, the lovely stars, and their creator. And, of course, the people, which she knew were out there.

Marita rested only a bit before heading back out into the inky black night following their trail. By morning she reached them.
