End of the World RP

"Because I want to kill the virus." he says "and I know how to avoid a wild fire, for one there is a lake about 10 miles from here fire doesn't go through water well. Two this place is rather dry and what fuel for the fire there is will burn quickly but there is very little"

"You can't count on a lake ten miles away to protect you from a fire you start here. Just starting a fire and running is very risky. Why not just control the fire? And why do you want to kill a virus when you are about to leave the area when you don't want to control a fire that you can't be sure to escape when it is left to run wild?"

Penny sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Marita. We don't want the virus to continue spreading. Animals can carry it also. Most of the people in this area are gone anyway. Only those that need to die because of the viruses will be harmed. We don't have enough water to control the flames, we need to just set the whole thing on fire." She lit the lighter. "We can't afford to try to control it."

[Cody, Ninja]

"Marita it will begin slow, trust me we have plenty of time" He tells her then turns to Penny "Burn it"

Penny nodded, and walked a little away from camp. Bending over and lighting the fire on some dry brush.

"Let's go" he says.

Penny waited for it to light and start to spread a little before she hurried back to camp. Telling the others in her group to hurry and pack.

Gwyn flings his pack and Ak over his shoulder and waits for the rest of the party.

Marita stamped out the fire. "You can't do that. The benefits don't out way the costs."

Penny turned to glare at her. "Marita. We need to light it on fire! Move before I let you burn with it."

[Belladonna (~Miriam Daisy Rose~)]

"You just sent up flares. You said you wanted to wait for responders. Now you want to burn them? It's night. It's dark. We can travel faster when we can see easily what is before our eyes. Even if we travel now, we could buy ourselves some time by at least waiting to light it until after we are ready to go! And whoever is out there sleeping may not wake up until they are engulfed in flames. We know there is at least one non-crazy-cannibalistic guy out there, he came over before Alec was attacked. And there are leeks in the woods, it would be a waist to burn them before we have harvested many. Plus, you really don't need water to control a fire. Dirt works plenty well. If we would just control it, the risks involved would be next to nothing, and we wouldn't risk burning any people you just called to you with your flares." Marita said.

[Cody, Ninja]

"It doesn't matter you are not the leader of this group do you understand that, I don't care about the flares I've tried that many times already and guess what you never get anything because the government Isn't looking for survivors! Oh and anyone who may be living here, well it's there problem not ours" Gwyn glares at her "I don't suggest you do that again"

"To my understanding they did not send up flares to get government aid, but to find other people without sickness. And it is our problem if we are doing it! The human race will not survive on this earth by killing each other because of complete and total indifference. And I know full well that I am not he leader of the group. I am very strongly suggesting, just as you said you would. Besides that, I am taking action because I will not sway what I believe fundamentally just to make life easier on myself. And because it is totally illogical, the actions you are taking. And because I care about you, and everyone else on this earth." She rebutted.

[Cody, Ninja]

"The human race is almost dead as it is, you aren't going to change that so I'm going to live my life as long as possible and then I'll die and be fed to the worms to usher in the next great race that's what is going to happen to us all it is survival of the fittest after all." He reaches into a side pocket on his backpack and takes out a large cylinder "Try putting this out" he presses a button on the top of the cylinder and throws it upon contact with the ground it burst into a fire ball completely engulfing the old mans camp and moves onto several trees and bushes within seconds, it quickly settles into a steady burn "Let's move out" he closes the pocket on his pack and begins to walk away.

She ran to her backpack and pulled out a metal pot, then moved to a place about four yards downwind of the fire and began clearing away brush and anything that could be fuel for the fire.

[Cody, Ninja]

"I'm going to shoot her" he grumbles "Come on if she doesn't come with us she can burn there is no putting that fire out now, how I love thermite impossible to put out it can only burn itself out"

Penny nodded to Daisy as she came over with Penny's neatly rolled up tent and supplies. She slipped it over her shoulders and adjusted the straps slightly. "She'll come. The fire is spreading too fast."
She picked up Marita's supplies and shouted over the sound of the crackling fire, "When you come to your senses I've got your supplies for you!" She turned and jogged into the center of their camp. Issuing orders to the rest of the group as they hurried to leave.

She cleared a two foot deep no-fuel barrier along the downwind width of the fire, and ran her pot through it, creating a trench wile filling the pot with dirt. She picked the pot up and carried it to the the side of the fire that was boarded most thickly by woods. She dropped it down and began to clear brush along the with of the fire in that area.

"If she stops that fire I'll kill her" Gwyn says.

Penny shook her head. "Calm down. Even if she does we'd have burned the worst...."

[Cody, Ninja]

"It's a matter of principle," he says "oh and don't look at the fire. Thermite releases UV rays making it comparable to looking at the sun a bad idea"

"Right... well, let's just go." Penny called out to Marita, "Hey, we're leaving! See you down the road!"
She called her group together, then they headed out.

[Cody, Ninja]

"There better be a bonfire behind us or I'm throwing another Thermite bomb on her head" he mutters and begins to walk away.

Penny rolled her eyes. "Calm down. You're over reacting."

[Cody, Ninja]

"I will have you know the only reason she isn't dead right now is because I respect you enough" he says to her annoyed.

Penny laughed lightly. "Wow. Just wow. You seriously need a chill pill. It's just a fire and you're talking murder."

[Cody, Ninja]

"Like I said it's a matter of principle, she doesn't listen to us now who knows next time it may be a matter of our life or death. Kill the weak only the strong survives" he explains to her.

"I get that, but there are more things in life then just following orders. Like... Daisy." Penny pointed to the small girl. "She follows orders, but she's mute. She's weak. She doesn't know how to fight. But she's an amazing cook. I'm not going to throw her out just because she can't fight, is weak, and mute." Penny thought for a moment. "And Alec was bipolar.... he didn't listen to orders very well at all. But he was good at stealing and slipping around silently, so I kept him."

"Well they've proved them selves, as of yet Marita has only proved she's annoying"

"We've only known her for around an hour. We haven't even checked to see if she's any good at anything." Penny pointed out.

[Cody, Ninja]

"From what I can tell she is going to be weak, when she needs to make decisions she'll hesitate." he says "She tried being friends with that old man who would have happily killed and eaten her, she doesn't understand this new world she doesn't understand evil and corruption"

"Then she'll end up killing herself off. But until then we can hang on to her and show her the real world."

[Cody, Ninja]

"We can try but chances are she will listen to 'god' over us" he says the word god very sarcastically.

"Hey, there could be one." Penny sighed.

[Cody, Ninja]

"Look around you, do you really believe any god would let this happen?" he asks incredulously.

"Not really. But think of the big flood and Noah and all that. He let it happen then." Penny pointed out.

"I've never seen any evidence to prove that the flood ever happened" he answers bluntly.

Penny shrugged. "Whatever." She rolled her eyes and picked up the speed to walk beside one of her other team members and talk with them.

Gwyn chuckles as she walks away but keeps walking at the same speed.

Penny ran a hand through her hair as she started talking about where they were headed to that team member.

"Make sure you keep east that's where the lake is" he calls ahead.

"Okay. Whatever." She sighed.

He chuckles "Don't be mad at me please, I just gave my opinion"

Penny just shrugged. Not looking at him. "I know."

He rolls his eyes "Very well."

"So how much further is the lake?"

The fire was moving upwind and she began stamping it with her boots and dropping dirt down onto it wile trying to clear away fuel.

She closed her eyes a bit to shield them from the burning heat of the fire.

"We haven't been walking long probably about 9 1/2 miles something like that" he answers.
