averil grabed damons hand when the firing started and pulled him to where emma was by the 4-wheelers. emma told averil what happned and that there might be canables "well i think we should leave then." averil told heremma nodded emma hurried and packed all the rest of there meat and then looked at mc'laughed "are you comeing with us?"
averil still had damons hand
Mc'laughin nods "You saved my life" he strides over to Penny and hands out a large wrapped bundel, "It's the only food I can give to help you resupply."
"Thanks." Penny muttered. "Go kill some freaks with the other group." Her gaze flickered back over to the bushes as she wondered if there were still any good supplies over there.... it would be dangerous to get them, but they did need them.
averil climbed up on the 4 wheeler "hurry up emma." averil yelled
Damon looked to Averil and chuckled slightly.
"you comen?" averil asked damon and smiled
Marita flinched. "Killing is not good."
Travis's gaze was focused intently on Marita.
Mc'laughin turned to Martia "We have to kill to stay alive."

"Weather or not you're right, it still isn't good." She said.

"That's awful" She said. She did not say it accusingly, but, more so feelingly, almost sympathetically.

"That's so inhuman..."
She thought briefly about hope.
Penny shook her head. "No. It's very much human. We feel a drive to protect ourselves, and if that leads to killing then so be it. Think of all the wars. Are you saying it is inhuman for the people defending to fight for their lives, their homes, their families, and their religion? Marita, that is not inhuman. We have to survive in a world where so few have made it. It's kill or be killed. You need to understand that." Penny handed her her dagger. "Go to the bushes and gather the supplies."

Penny smiled. "Thanks." She looked back at Marita. "Go on. I've got your back. You need to understand. It really is kill or be killed. We need the supplies, and you need to learn. Go. Get them." She gave her a slight shove towards the bush.
She began walking towards the bush. An awful feeling crawled into the pit of her stomach, slowly taking hold of her entire gut. She held the dagger steadily in her hand.

She began to walk carefully, making little or no sound. Anyone on the other side may know she was coming, but they wouldn't know from what direction.
Penny kept her hand on her Glock as she watched Marita.
She moved towards the left as the went closer, so that she was not coming on from the direction of the talking. Almost a foot away from the high bushes, ducking down slightly, she attempted to catch a glimpse of what was was on the other side.

There was the squelching, tearing noise as the man ripped off part of Alec's arm and chewed on the meat. Although he preferred his meat cooked, he was hungry enough he just didn't care.
Her heart cringed with compassion. However, from where she was, she looked about for the stolen supplies.
The supplies were with Alec right by the old man.

Marita silently leaned sideways and picked up three fairly large rocks.

She put the rocks back down just as silently and came back. "He's just an old man. You can have all my supplies. Even the cloths I'm wearing. Maybe he's never been around raw vegetables, and he doesn't know the difference between poison and food. Maybe he thinks this is the only way to survive. Can we just leave him with them? You can have all of mine, and if that doesn't cover it, I can offer you labor." She pleaded quietly enough that the man couldn't hear her, so engrossed in his task and chewing as he was.

The old man finished eating that small chunk of arm, and went to rip off some more. His eyes wild and his long beard matted with blood.

((argh. Sorry. I totally missed your post, which makes no sense because I could swear nobody had posted anything new before I had posted....))Penny sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "We need the supplies. He took almost half of what we have. What you have isn't enough. He's crazy. Killing other people. It's best to just put him out of his state and kill him."
She didn't respond, but looked down then turned around and went back to the bushes. She picked up the three rocks. She held the dagger steadily. She went in.

((I know that, but I have a habit of glancing at the post number of the post before mine, then when I return to the main page I still remember it and just glance at the number of posts in the rp to make sure I didn't miss a post... and I didn't... I dunno... I'm just confused.))Penny watched her closely.
The old man had stopped eating, and was rummaging through the packs of stuff.
"HAY!" She yelled at the man, the weapons ready but not pointing out at him.
The man stopped, and turned to look at her.
She felt like she froze there for a long time, but in reality she barely paused a second. "Do you want some bread?"
He stood up, a mildly confused look on his face as he babbled something in Italian.
"P-pain, pan" She tried in French and Spanish, quickly putting her dagger hand into her deep pocket, still holding the dagger, and quickly pulling out a small loaf of bread, still holding the dagger at ready, but not very threateningly.
