I thought he was dead?

message 54: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Perhaps LG is really Stephen or Angebel... not that it matters.

LG, I'm glad you've decided to hang around here. You keep it fun and interesting.

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments There's actually a website with Abe Vigoda, dead/alive, status updates:

Currently alive!

Didn't someone from that show die fairly recently? I thought it was Abe, but I could be mixing him up with someone else.

CRAP! I almost guessed it was him... I used to always get him mixed up with the Love Boat guy.

I'm chiming in about three random topics ago to say that I like fish and am considering getting a few to keep in Leah's room. I think she'd like them.

But what about Marla Singer?!?!?

message 60: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments you could get a tank with a lid on it. fish are fun to look at, very relaxing.

Lyzzibug ~Still Breathing~ (lyzzibug) | 708 comments Keep in mind that they are a pain in the ass to clean, Sally. Also, goldfish dirty up the tank faster.

message 62: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Ahem ... I believe one only "cleans" fish if one intends to eat them.

Lyzzibug ~Still Breathing~ (lyzzibug) | 708 comments Keep in mind that the fish TANK is hard to clean.

Better? :P

Thanks. Who's Angebel? I'm guessing one of the underagers Sally loved to torture.

No, no... she's a neato gal, and I'm pretty sure Sally liked her, too. She just quit posting around here because one of the members (I think a former member as this person deleted her profile) would send inflammatory and harassing emails to Angie because Angie was very strong in her support of Tibet and the Dalai Lama (this person was pro-China). Or maybe it's because Angie's mom is on GR now... I've invited her back to TC several times. I think you guys would like her alot. I sure did.

message 77: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments I wish I could actually speak Italian. It looks so pretty--like Spanish with lots of extra letters.

Sarah | 13814 comments Now would be a good time for us all to start talking like Kevin Kline or John Cleese in A Fish Called Wanda.

August 14th.

Really? If LG could be any famous person incognito you would wish she was Michelle Obama? I have to ask, why her above all others?

smetchie | 4034 comments You talking to me Amelia?

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep, talking to you, Smetch.

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Just curious.

message 88: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments I was thinking "not a celebrity but someone who would have to protect their identity." Michelle Obama was the first thing that popped into my head and it made me giggle gleefully. I just think that would be the bees fucking knees if the first lady were in Terminal Coffee.

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I can see that. I'm not sure I'd be as excited, only because I never heard of the woman before the campaign trail and don't really know enough about her to be super excited to meet her for any reason other than the fact that she sleeps in the white house. But, I can see your excitement. That's cool. I'd rather it was her than a lot of celebrities that pop in my mind! ;)

I hope I'm not Charlie Sheen, or Michelle Bachmann.

message 91: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Btw, my birthday is Bastille Day.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

Have you ever read David Sedaris' bit about being in the French class and Bastille Day/Easter etc, Jammies? Too funny. I tried to read it aloud to my husband once, but I kept snorting with laughter so much he couldn't understand me, then I choked on my own spit and gave up...

That was my first and favorite Sedaris.

message 94: by Jammies (new)

Jammies I'm a heathen or possibly humor-impaired, as David Sedaris does not make me laugh.

message 95: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I enjoyed a live performance he gave in Austin several years ago. I don't get as much from reading it.

I hated almost all of that one with the glass full of ice on the front, except the Santaland Diaries, I liked that bit, the rest was RUBBISH. I loved Me Talk Pretty One Day but didn't make it more than a few pages into Naked. I listed to Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim on CD, so if that counts I like it a lot, but still not as much as MTPOD. I've had Engulfed in Flames for years, but haven't even picked it up.

I'm a partially rabid fan / partially...meh.

Yeah, I felt exactly the same way about the Santaland book, Amelia.

Naked is the only one I haven't read yet, and Me Talk Pretty One Day was my favorite. Oh, and I had some podcast of him talking about some Nordic holiday tradition that was one of the funniest things I've ever heard. I listened to that and Russell Brand on Fresh Air on one of my long drives to my mother's house and nearly drove off the road laughing so hard.

message 99: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I'm your vehicle baby!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I find David Sedaris sporadically funny. I loved the French lessons section in Me Talk Pretty One Day, because I could SO relate.

Some of his stuff makes me cringe, some makes me sympathize, and some of it is supposed to be funny but isn't, because it's about him behaving pretty poorly. I don't laugh hysterically, but I'm not bored, either.
