message 212: by Mark (new)

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 441 comments Imagine what it would be like if I was a moderator... it would be all innuendo: "bushland" and "pope statue", angry pronouncements about pimp slapping bookstore employees openly excited about how they had misplaced books at half ten in the morning, (They though they were in the right place), Penis accessories: From the Penis thread, Unfortunate sex-games: "Water sports, I'm not elaborating", Word games, Anti-theistic diatribes, and just general drunken depravity all together in one big cocktail... "Where did I put my drink?"

Is there an easy way to find current discussions happening in GR for books we are reading? I am interested in finding discussions on The Picture of Dorian Gray but have failed to find any.

message 231: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) No.

message 232: by Jammies (new)

Jammies *gags the monkey and banishes him to The Land Beyond the Ficus*

Gail, on the right sidebar of this topic, you will see "Books mentioned in this topic" and to the right of that, in parentheses, "other topics". Click on the link inside the parentheses, and Bob's my uncle!

message 233: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) You wish Bob was your uncle.

Gail, the easiest way is to click on the discussions tab on your main page and click on "books." If there is a current discussion of a book you've shelved, it should appear there. If that doesn't bring anything up, go here

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/list_b...

and go page by page looking for the non-bolded discussions. The bolded discussions are associated with a group. The non-bolded are freestanding discussions.

Bob is my uncle too. Thanks for the tips ladies. I might have to start a discussion of my own.

message 237: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Larry wrote: "You wish Bob was your uncle."

Sometimes I wish he wasn't but he's my mother's older brother. And how the hell did you get the gag off so fast?

*re-banishes the monkey*

Gail, you are very welcome.

message 238: by Michele (new)

Michele bookloverforever (lovebooks14) | 1970 comments I had an uncle Bob. a cousin Bob too. only my uncle's real name was Oscar. go figure.

message 239: by Phil (new)

I wouldnt.

message 243: by [deleted user] (new)

Yay. Should I start it in Terminalcoffee?

message 244: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
No, unless you want to limit it to TC members. Start it as a freestanding discussion so anyone can join in.

message 245: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yikes! Anyone?

message 246: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 01, 2011 09:04PM) (new)

Yep, Anyone. I am being brave and putting it out there into the world. I started a discussion. I am really looking for guidance from others. If you would like to join in great. If not I'll try something else.

Have you read it Larry? maybe you might like to join in.

I read it a long time ago and can't remember much about it. But, be patient - you will get responses from people as they see it pop up in their discussion queue.

message 250: by [deleted user] (new)
