To add insult to injury, Larry even visited Covey in the hospital and whispered, "How effective are you now, bedridden midget? Synergize, synergize!"

message 652: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Poor little millionaire.

Even Covey's nurses, who were trying to strangle and suffocate him, found Larry's insults below the belt. Not a metaphor, Covey wore a belt with his hospital gown in order to veil his buttocks from an eager public.

message 654: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) He really looked funny after a couple of days without shaving his head, too.

Where & when? I like him. Is he amazingly not very tall?

message 660: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I think he was about 5'8" or so. Not midget-like, but I somehow expected him to be as tall as me (6'1"). He's not tall at all, now, Cheri, since he can't stand up anymore.

Any cattle found within Detroit city limits are calmed before being quickly dispatched with a bullet between the eyes - so you don't taste fear - field dressed, then slapped onto a barbeque.

Cow tipping is for hopeless no-lifers. Kill it and grill it!

It is weird to me how vehement Clark's sentiment is on this subject.

message 663: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Vehemence is.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Vehemence is vehement? So it is.

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Normally Clark is so sentimental. It's rare for him to go vehemental.

message 666: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It is.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Lobstergirl wrote: "Normally Clark is so sentimental. It's rare for him to go vehemental."

He is typically a sentimental mush. Especially over his children.

message 668: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Yes, he is sentimental but also carries adoption papers for them on his person. Ready to be signed and notarized in an instant! I think he even travels with a notary at all times.

message 669: by [deleted user] (new)

Sentimental or semi-mental?

message 670: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments It's a fine line, Clark.

message 671: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Must look closely to see the difference.

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments Which town/city/street is represented by our TC banner photograph?

I can't see too much detail .

Is that downtown Cooma?

message 674: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments No, too many lights. I don't think there would be that much action.

It is Pagosa Springs, Colorado. At the time I was trying to get that group picture masthead and it was never the right size, so I tried an unedited photo and ended up liking it.

Sallers, you took me right back to my childhood! You're probably not old enough to know what a "B side" is or to have heard of "Convoy" by C.W. McCall, but the "B side" to "Convoy" was a song called "Wolf Creek Pass" and my dad used to play it for us and tell us about the horrible motel he and Mom stayed in in downtown Pagosa Springs.

Is anyone voting in the GR Choice Awards? I can't, because it appears I haven't read anything published in 2012.

People are odd....I got a friend request from a woman with 3,000+ books shelved who said something like "I love your taste in books!" so I did a book compare, and of the 280 books we had in common, many of them were from my "Will Never Read" shelf, and she had shelved them as To Read.

I don't think spam emails like that are terribly unusual. Just do as you did, report to Goodreads, and they will probably delete the account.

Go to their member page. At the bottom click on "block this member."

(Moderator status has nothing to do with your blocking ability.)
