If you were it wouldn't be funny.

That's why it was funny to me. :)

Behind the ficii.

Someone just sent me a friend request that said:

"You read misterys and I write them!"

message 610: by Mark (new)

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 441 comments What that person actually means when they write will be a great mistery to myna.

Sally wrote: "Did you reply? Did you accept?"

No, the person has shelved 65 books but has 1097 friends. Even if they had not informed me that I "read misterys," I don't befriend people with that ratio.

message 613: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Also this person and I had NO books in common. Do you know how rare that is? I've never seen it before. That means that a person has not shelved Gone with the Wind, or To Kill a Mockingbird, or Pride and Prejudice, or books that every single other mofo on Goodreads has shelved.

message 614: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Heh. I don't even want to know what kind of "misterys" might be shelved.

All smut?

message 617: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I have my shelves desmutted regularly.

I wish I had a picture of dead cattle like Clark in the 90s to post as our group masthead.

It would be neat if we had a picture of Clark cow-tipping between the ages of 14-18.

Or attempting and failing to cow tip, note I do not support the practice of cow-tipping. No matter how many times they shove the tip jar in your direction.

message 622: by [deleted user] (new)

Sheesh. When I eventually build up the courage to visit the US, how many animals also expect to be tipped?

message 623: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Just cows and tigers, Gail.

message 624: by Félix (last edited Aug 25, 2012 02:42PM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) And maitre d's.

I have been cow tipping but not successfully.

Perhaps Stephen Covey could help you.

message 627: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) He dead.

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Right....his books, though. They live on. In the hearts of office nerds.

message 629: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I met him. Or have I already said that?

message 630: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Who?

message 631: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Stephen Covey.

message 632: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
His name always made me think of witches.

message 633: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) When I met him, I said that I had expected him to be taller. He just smiled and looked for someone else to talk to.

message 634: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
And then you stabbed him with your plastic fork! Excellent.

message 635: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Were you there?

message 636: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

message 638: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Who stabbed Larry?

message 647: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Stephen Covey.

message 648: by [deleted user] (new)

Larry is making up stories again. It was Larry stabbing Stephen.

message 649: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Stephen died a couple of weeks ago. Bicycle accident.

message 650: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Larry stabbed Stephen Covey as he bicycled past him, yelling "Midget!" Covey fell and sustained a head injury, which killed his tiny self several months later.
