A bit harsh. Do you have a blog?

Pollopicu Harsh, perhaps..but true. I just wish peopled cared more about real literature.

Nicole (nicolels) | 14 comments Pollopicu wrote: "Harsh, perhaps..but true. I just wish peopled cared more about real literature."

What do you consider "real literature"? And how do you know they don't care about it? I read other works and genres, but I don't blog about them because they've already been discussed 17 times over and my two cents isn't going to propel them even further. IJS

message 2761: by Pollopicu (new)

Pollopicu Care about real literature in their blogs... I think people are too caught up in fantasy, YA, and vampire lit. That's my opinion...all two cents of it. I just wish I could click just one link that discusses books of importance.

You have a good point on that, it is not fear to judge someone, because You don't like that one particular genre, Latvians have a saying- how many people, so many opinions/tastes. Where You can't measure everyone with the same measuring tape

Nicole (nicolels) | 14 comments I've read Austen, Chaucer, Dante, Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Tolstoy and quite a few others, but I choose to make my blog about the lighthearded fluff stories I like to read to give my brain a break from the heavier works. Since it's a matter of personal taste, what's on their blog shouldn't bother you. Again, IJS

Sorry To Bother You,
but ok , If I make a review of a really important peace of literature. What is the Possibility You will Like it, Read it and take a note of it?
Or Original works?
But I have the feeling a real peace for You will only be counted as a classic right?

I am just beginning to post more and experiment with a blog, that I created at 1am this morning! :) I am so excited to begin writing and posting. I am also working on a YA book that I have been brainstorming for quite a while...

My blog is http://turningpageschasingbutterflies...

I have a forum post where I am asking about tips about blogging, writing, or anything in general..Also if you have any ideas about Blog topics, feel free to post! Thank you. Follow my blog, and I promise to follow you also :) Thank you!!

Pollopicu It's not about judging, it's about having an opinion. I think crying "judgmental" is a scapegoat accusation. If you feel comfortable blogging about YA, and vampires, and you don't see anything wrong with it, and it makes you happy, why would anything I say matter?
It's like someone disliking my preference in jazz music. If someone doesn't like it, I'm ok with that because I enjoy it, and it's beautiful music.

There's just something that's always annoyed me about new trends, and the drones it creates.

All I'm saying is that it would be nice, for me, if I could click on a blog link that discussed books that are in the spectrum of realism.

But from what I've read of the last few exchanges, no one is calling anyone judgmental, but at the same time, you said "If someone doesn't like it, I'm ok with that because I enjoy it, and it's beautiful music." But the fact that people are blogging what they like, you post that that 9/10 blogs you click are crap. Isn't that being judgmental? And so what if Amanda has a YA blog? She likes YA, you like jazz, I eat Godiva truffles; it ain't a perfect world, but bashing what someone likes just cause you don't agree with it.....in the words of Reginald Denny, "can't we all just get along?"

Amen! I hope I didn't offend you, I just don't think it's right to bash blogs by calling them crap simply because it's not the basher's (in this case Pollopicu) personal preference.

Thank you!

message 2774: by Pollopicu (new)

Pollopicu You see, no one here was bashing..Perhaps a lot of this could've been avoided if I had properly phrased what I wrote, and instead of writing "a lot of crappy blogs" what I should've expressed was that they are crappy to me. obviously, since I'm in the minority of the vampire craze.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. Moving on.

Your average review of classics 2.7 out of 5. I've looked at many readers average review scores they give and yours is by far the lowest. In fact you don't seem to like the classics you are here defending over YA and vampire books. Do you like anything at all? Or do you only like to hear the sound of your voice complaining?

This is my very first post and I wish to weigh in on your post. Your intent was indeed to offend. What you've just displayed is called being passive aggressive. Where you decide that you are free to say something of an offending nature and when people get hurt or upset by it, you play it off like you are shocked or offended. Even worse, you try to spin it like you said nothing harmful at all. Here's an idea for you. When you see a post titled SHARE YOUR BLOGS it helps if you understand what it means. It's not called SHARE YOUR OPINION OF OTHERS WHO ARE TRYING TO GET THEIR BLOGS NOTICED.

Who are you to decide the content of someone else's blog? Who are you to come on here and do your best to tear others down, then act like your hurtful comment was taken the wrong way? Here's another idea. Why don't you just keep your opinions to yourself if you have nothing constructive to add. I can tell you this, I may be brand new, but I detest bullies like you who hide behind the anonymity of the internet and knowingly pick fights with people who are trying to help each other get noticed.
