It's like a specific topic say someone might have a weekly meme such as "Snippet Tuesday" that they host on their blog where they will put a snippet from the book they are currently reading. Then you make a blog post on your blog using the heading "Snippet Tuesday" with a snippet from the book you are reading and link it back to that blog, often the host blog will have an area for you to put the link to your blog post so people can check yours out.(I hope I explained that okay haha)
