Just finished "Magic Burns" by Ilona Andrews, the second in the Kate Daniels series. This was a great read. I really like Kate's character. She's tough but with a heart. She doesn't take crap from anyone and her heart is always in the right place. It was fast paced and action packed as this time Kate meets some interesting characters with a new mystery to solve. The interaction between her and Curran, the lion-shifting king of the shifters, heats up. I can't wait to read the next one and give this one **** stars!

I also finished Heat Stroke today. I gave it ****. Here's the review:

I liked this one a lot more than the first. The events begin shortly after the end of Ill Wind and most of the book deals with the fallout that. I felt like Ill Wind suffered a bit from being the first book and there was a lot of world building but I didn't really connect with the characters. I didn't feel that way about Heat Stroke at all. I thought that Joanne really came into her own and I liked her growing relationship with David. I wouldn't call the ending a cliffhanger exactly but there's a lot of unfinished business that will have me reading the third book shortly.

-completed today. 4 Stars. This was a fun read. I've read the first one and now this one which is either 3rd or 9th not sure. Rule big strong silent type, Abby short plump and plain. Fun couple, that the author makes work. A real easy read, with little depth, but oodles of escapist romance and a bit of hot sex. Absolute hot bath material.

OK,so here is my long awaited rating for my Urban-Fantasy shelf I had Bitten but waited to long so read Wicked Lovelyand RATE 4*
Reading Wicked Lovely was great. It was great being able to immerse myself into the world Melissa Marr created. I got to know the character's well and follow the swaying emotions of Aislinn along with the awkward love square. This book is juicy with adventure, love, deceit, and discoveries. A book that I love and heartily recommend.
Will be done with Spirit Bound soon,and will continue with the last in this series for our next shelf

Finished Blood Rites...4*s...oh my this book was just full of surprises...cant say what because I cant give anything away but I can say this - I love "bob the skull" he is just too funny so be prepared for some humorous parts in this one. Definitely going to read the next book soon.
