R2 TEAM THREAD: Team #5 The Bite Me Betty Dolls
WTG Ladies - we have earned our stamp for our Shifters Shelf...Yahoo!!! I will let Steph know that she may update our shelves again....
Yay! Another stamp! And all on the same column. C'mon fantasy-paranormal or angels! And it's been crazy at work so I don't think I even "yay'd" our second stamp. So Yay! everyoneBut I did manage to finish Intertwined. I gave it 3 stars. Here's the review:
I don't normally read much YA but I read this one for a challenge and ended up liking it. I read Gena Showalter's other series and I found her voice similar here (although obviously without the naughty bits). I found the characters likable and really wanted Aden to succeed and find happiness. And although the world was populated with some typical vamps and werewolves Aden, the boy with four other souls inside and him, and Mary Ann, the girl who seems to negate supernatural ability, made for some interesting twists to the typical paranormal world. I actually would have rated this 4 stars but a couple of things toward the end pushed my personal/political buttons and brought me out of the story. But that may be me being overly sensitive. So I'd do 3 1/2 if I could but I can't so 3 it is.

OK here's my rate/review for
4STARS Will try not to spoil anything.....
I enjoyed this read... The characters where believable and Our main characters Jessie and Pietr were fun and interesting to follow along with, but I was often times frustrated with them as well. Jessie more often than not played the role of a martyr and at times that got old and even irritating. While I wanted to yell and shake Jessie more than a time or two for her actions and suggestions, I also found Pietr at fault for agreeing so easily with her decisions. It takes two to cause the confusion and trouble that they created. But these irritations didn't stop me from reading on.Still have questions but, Delany can only answer these with her follow up installments to the 13 To Life series and I for one can't wait to read more to find out.
For my Demon shelf I'll be reading

Finished The Hunger Games in the early hours of this morning. It's a 5 star for me.What a fabulous book. I'm not a huge YA book fan, but this was just great. I love learning this new world, The plot is well done and the characters are engaging. I immediately started the second book, even though I had no idea where the plot would take them.

For my YA-Fantasy book I chose Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare...4*s...at first I was wondering why I was reading this - but after I read a few chapters I was glad I stuck with it...I loved Tessa & I hope that the next book explains more about her "being" because I think this book just scratched her surface. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Ooh, can't wait to start Eternal Rider. :)I finished The Darkest Secret today. **** Here's the review:
I'm rounding this up from 3.5 because I continue to like the series. But the beginning of this one really dragged for me. I thought that it got bogged down with too many POVs and with Amun being out of commission. The second half definitely picked up when it really concentrated on Amun and Haidee's relationship and what they needed to accomplish. It turns into kind of an unusual road romance and I typically enjoy road romances. So that really engaged me more than the beginning.
One thing in this book bugged me a little and I never noticed with previous LOTU books is that there seems to be some BDB-like vocabulary starting with the warriors. Not the made up words with random "H's" but the weird slang making ancient warriors sound like a bunch of pre-teen girls. I have no issue with the modern slang but it should at least sound like guy slang, not girl slang. Anyway, I seem to be in an every other book pattern with this series. I loved books 2, 4 & 6. And the ones in between are OK but not my favorites. So I'm looking forward to Strider's book, since it's #8 and his girl is a harpy and I love those harpies.

Hi Ladies! I'm back from Istanbul. Had a great time even though the weather was not so great - cold and rainy. It's an amazing city though so it didn't matter much.I'm almost finished with "Beautiful Creatures" so I'll try to finish that up today. For the demons bookshelf, I'm going to read "Black Wings"

I'm so glad you enjoyed "Hunger Games". I agree with you - it is absolutely fantastic! I think you will love them all just as much as you love that one :)
Okay, finished "Beautiful Creatures" and I have to say, I liked it okay. It was a bit easy to put down. I enjoyed the southern mystery a lot, and the elements of fantasy with casters, etc. but the love story seemed to be the biggest part of the story and I didn't like that so much. I think that is why I was able to put it down - it was just too much of a romance for me. Eventually, I'd like to read the next one to see what will become of "Lena". I give it three stars.

Great Characters, good plot. Good page turner.

I finished Witchling by Yasmine Galenorn for our Demons shelf and I'm disappointed at how it turned out. The only reason I'm giving this book 2 stars is because Maggie saved the story and a little because of I'm interested in reading more about what's going to happen with Delilah and Menolly. I haven't read a book that actually had a gargoyle as a pet so that caught my attention. I mean how cool would it be to have a pet gargoyle?
I've finished reading The Darkest Kiss by Gena Showalter and it was great.I rate it 4*stars*
I'm just going to say that if I swung that way I'd so go after Anya and give Lucien a run for his money. she was awesome,kept me grinning through out the whole book can't wait to read on and see what lies ahead in the next installment. Great story!!!!

Hey everyone - another shelf announcement...we are really close to earning 3 more stamps so keep reading...I will have my demon finished by tomorrow at the latest...I will be off line for most of the day - I am taking my sister in law to dialysis today & that usually means that I have to wait for about 5 hours for her to get her treatment with no access to a computer. I told her last week if I had to do this much longer I was going to have to invest in a laptop...lol
