And, I think your opinion of Barrons will almost certainly change once you read SF. LOTS of history told and definitely puts his a-hole actions into a better perspective.

I agree, Steph. But the Barrons love train stopped at my house a long time ago. The Adam Hauptman one? Eh. I waved it on by. I like him, but I've never enjoyed the Mercys for the romance, the wonderful cast of characters is why I love that series. The romance is just eh for me.

What can I say? I'm a fan of tall, dark & broody. ;)

LOL - that's a lot of Barrons love! I just checked and I'm #23 on the wait list at the library for Shadowfever. Hopefully I don't have much longer to wait to see if I'm still the only one not on the train.

Thanks you guys! :D Ok, good news, I'm catching up with everyone here.

First off, I finished Lord of Misrule by Rachel Caine and I give that book 3 stars. Despite not really liking YA books, I have enjoyed reading The Morganville Vampires series (even if I had accidentally skipped this book in the first place) and I think that this series will get better and better as it goes on.

*!WARNING! This next part contains spoilers for those who haven't read and plan to read Be Mine Tonight by Kathryn Smith*
Next, I have read Be Mine Tonight by Kathryn Smith for the Free Space and I give that book 2 stars. I felt like this book was kind of predictable yet I liked the originality of it. Girl gets sick so she searches for a cure and in this case the Blood Grail that has been mistaken for the Holy Grail. At the same time, huge hunk who turns out to be a vamp comes by to also find the Grail but for different reasons. They hit it off then girl gets worse in her sickness. Vamp turns her and then the search for the Blood Grail continues. Again, original, yet good.

Last but not least, for the Shifters shelf I will be reading Scent of Darkness by Christina Dodd. Hopefully I've caught up by now. If not or if you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Review: Excellent read. I like the Black Dagger brotherhood series Loved the first few books, but a think the series lost it's way a bit in the middle. Fortunately this book goes back to greatness of the original ones. Strong plot, fab characters and steamy scenes.

Finished "Strange Brew" today. I have to say.. with the exception of Kelley Armstrong's Women and Men of the Otherworld series (or if there is a short story that is part of a series I love), I think I am finished with anthologies. The past few that I have read have just been a disappointment. I don't know if I am cut out to read these type of books.

Getting back to this one, I have to say most of the stories in the one, were just "EH" for me. I liked Charlaine Harris's "Bacon" and I enjoyed Faith Hunter's "Signature of the Dead". This one in particular could have been a lot more interesting if it didn't feel so rushed. I think she could have gotten a book out of it and there was a lot of story to tell, but because of the type of story it was, she had to condense, and rush it. I also liked "Death Warmed Over" by Rachel Caine, and it seems like the characters "Andrew Toland" and "Holly Caldwell" were part of a different series as there was reference to their history together, but I'm not sure what that would be. It was interesting though. The rest of the stories, really didn't leave much of an impression.

I give this book three stars.

I'm so glad I went on ahead and read this after having a slow start with the first book. This one seemed to have TONS more action.
The book was great It really draws you into the fantasy, and you really feel like part of the group. Can't hardly wait for the next read because there are so many questions left unanswered like who is the father of Nicole's baby and what about Jer and Holly's relationship and what would happen if Phillipe isn't the father of Nicole's baby? Happy reading Betty Dolls will finish my Free Space read here by tomorrow and have a review up.

I finished my "shifters" shelf book last night. Here's the review:

Silver Borne - Read 3/14/11 - ★★★★★

Mercy remains my favorite UF heroine. I was simultaneously tearing through this book because I didn't want to put it down and I was trying to slow myself down to make it last. I love the growing relationship between Mercy and Adam, as well as the developing relationships between Mercy and the pack. I was also totally emotionally involved with Samuel's struggles. One minor nitpick at the end (view spoiler)[I wish there had been a different way to get Bran to connect with Mercy. The walking stick showing up to solve everything is starting to get annoying (hide spoiler)] but it wasn't enough for me to give it anything less than 5 stars.

Off to go pay hardcover price for River Marked!

Shifters - Finished Pride Mates last night. 4 stars. Really enjoyed this introduction to Ashley's pride world. Loved all the relationships in the book: between Liam and Kim, Liam and his family and Dylan and Glory. Good plot. Looking forward to reading more about these characters.
