♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments awwe! I want to play again! It would be way too soon if it was over next week!!

Sherri | 781 comments Just checking in to see if the new shelf had been added.

I can't believe we are so close to the end! For those that played the first time were the changes better for the game. Wasn't there a difference in how often the shelves were announced?

I wonder what the new game is. If it comes up and I am out of the country can I get a spot held for me?

message 903: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I must admit to being a bit curious about the next game myself. I'm hoping it's another team challenge. It's fun reading with friends! :)

message 904: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Sherri, yes the only difference between Round 1 & 2 was that the shelves were announced weekly instead of 2 weekly.

Round 2 was much better. It became torture waiting for the next shelf to be announced every 2 weeks. Some players got confused and frustrated with the wait.

When are you planning to be out of the country?

Not saying! LOL. But remembering it's a game, so the interaction is very important to the fun.

Amanda A | 812 comments Game Over by Taylor Keating
Finished 5/14
★★★½

Game Over is certainly a unique and original book that turned out to be an enjoyable read. River Weston is a video game designer who ends up trapped in her own game along with a Guardian who helps her battle the Dark Lord holding them captive. I am not very familiar with the gaming world, but that did not take anything away from the plot for me. The authors did a really good job blending the technical aspects with the paranormal elements. There is plenty of action and it is fun watching the relationship between River and Hawk develop. I will definitely pick up the next book in the series.

message 907: by Sherri (new)

Sherri | 781 comments I like the weekly shelf announcement. For me its worked out well, since the majority of the time I was almost complete. I can't imagine waiting another 5 or six days to get the next shelf. This ONE week it has seemed like forever.

Sandra, I will be away from 29 May to 14 June.

Michelle, I'm also liking the team format. I was initially a little leary of having to do the reviews but I think that this the best part of the team aspect, seeing whaat your fellow teammates think of the book.

message 908: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Yay Amanda, really glad you liked this one. Like I said before I've already pre-ordered #2, but hadn't read #1. I do that a lot. LOL.

OK Sherri I'll keep in mind you'll be away then. Steph may announce the next game before 29/5, 2 weeks from now, anyway, depending on a Winner in this Round.

Reviews have been a great idea, I agree, however bad I am at doing them.

message 909: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'm so glad ya'll are enjoying the game! I hope everyone will be just as excited about the new one. The only thing I'll say in advance of the announcement is that it is another team challenge/game. :)

Stay tuned. New bingo shelf will be posted soon!

message 910: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Our next shelf is here!
This is a WINNING shelf for the Sixie Chicks!

Our Next Shelf is: 'fantasy-scifi'
DIRECT LINK: 'fantasy-scifi'

Reminder: All team 6 members must read, rate and review 'vampires' & 'fantasy-scifi' in order to win. If they do not complete their reads for both shelves prior to the next shelf announcement, another team has the chance to win.

Happy Reading! :)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments ;) Still maybe, Nici. The Sixie Chicks have several reads to go before they can get a stamp for 'vampires' which is another one in their diagonal in order to win. Nothin' to do now, but read and watch to see how it all plays out.

You can take a look at the status on the {Team Stats}

message 922: by Shelleyrae (new)

Shelleyrae at Book'd Out | 346 comments I finished Bite Marks on Sat but didn't have a chance to check in, I gave it 4 stars - love that Jaz came to Australia! This book is a little more angst than previous installments with Jaz possessed and a horde of nasty gnomes and demons after the Scooby gang.

Will let you know my choice for this shelf as soon as I can get to my desktop. It's too hard browse the lists on my iPod.

message 938: by Nici (new)

Nici (queennici102) | 697 comments i finished reading Magic Study and give it ★★★★. I want to give it a five star, but i just never can do it. I can't say its the best book ever! LOL silly i know. Anyway, the book is great. I have felt a little in a slump lately, and this book made me feel better about it. I zoomed right through it. The authors style of writing is easy and quick, but doesn't skip the details or leave me feeling lost and confused.

message 939: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Glad you enjoyed it Nici, I gave it 4 stars too.

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments I am sorry for my change, but I need to change to a less complicated book for now. This is the last week of school here & I have tons of things to do. Golf Tournaments etc.

Soooo... I am changing to: Seduce the Darkness (Alien Huntress, #4) by Gena Showalter
I am really sorry, but inorder to finish it this week, I need something I don't have to completely pay attention to.

message 941: by Crystal S (last edited May 17, 2011 08:15PM) (new)

Crystal S (crystalann) | 487 comments I finished Silver Borne (Mercedes Thompson, #5) by Patricia Briggs on 05/17/11. I'm giving it ★★★★★. This series is the best ever. Seriously. The only problem with this book was that it was too short. I love Mercy. I LOVE Adam. The man makes me drool. Nom, nom, nom. :-) I just really, really enjoyed it. And I love that Samuel found someone that will hopefully make him happy, cause that wolf breaks my heart.

message 942: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Yep, my thoughts exactly Crystal. I gave it 5 stars too!

message 943: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Amy, no worries, of course you can change books. Hope you enjoy the Alien Huntress world :)

message 944: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I'm changing my book too, just wasn't in the mood for Opal in Sea Glass (Glass, #2) by Maria V. Snyder

So doing a re-read of Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs , it's been a while since I read it.

message 945: by Shelleyrae (new)

Shelleyrae at Book'd Out | 346 comments I finished Burn Bright May 17th and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I gave it 4 stars.
The author sent it to me unsolicited (I think because she saw my review of Sharp Shooter written by her alter ego and commented on my blog) and I'm normally not a huge fan of YA or sci fi - but this is cleverly written with an interesting premise.

Ill be sure to add my two cents on the BOM thread!

message 946: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Glad you enjoyed it Shelleyrae :)

message 947: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Storm Glass (Glass, #1) by Maria V. Snyder I finished this one yesterday and I'm giving it ★★★★

I'm glad Maria set this one a few years after the Study trilogy. I really have to be in the mood for fantasy books but I did enjoy this one. Maria creates a believable world and interesting characters. I preferred the Study trilogy but I'm soldiering on with the next one anyways! :)

message 948: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Glad you enjoyed Storm Glass, Michelle, I gave it 4 stars too. I was gonna jump into Sea Glass but I'm just not in the mood, but I will get to it, cause it's in a few challenges.

About half way through my re-read of Moon Called, should be finished tonight I think.

message 949: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I often find that with a lot of books but with these being library books I don't have a choice and they were inter-library loan. It could be months bfore I get them again

message 950: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I know exactly what you mean. That's one of the reasons I have so many books.

Not just the pnr/ufs that I have to buy, but historicals like Georgette Heyer, Stephanie Laurens and Jayne Ann Krentz, in all her names. These ones are readily available at the library, but I like to be able to go to my shelf and read one whenever I like. Mind you I've been collecting them for a very long time.

But I still borrow from the library when I can, and those renewal dates always come too soon. LOL.
