Suggestion for adult, darker vamp books with little or no romance (and some variations on vamp) that you don't see often in lists, but which are really good reads- Cie Adams (Touch of Evil series), Mario Acevedo (Nymphos of Rocky Flats), Nancy Collins (Sunglasses after Dark series), JF Lewis (Staked), Jennifer Rardin (Once Bitten Twice Shy series), Karen Taylor (The Vampire Vivienne), PD Cacek (Night Prayers), Kim Newman (Anno Dracula- Dracula marries Queen Victoria!).

Donna (dfpat) | 8 comments The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher is a great book series. It is a male lead which is fun sometimes. He is about to release book 14 of the series and the series will go to about 20 books, the last 3 being a massive trilogy ending. Awesome series. Here is Jim Butchers site for Harry Dresden... http://www.jim-butcher.com/books/dresden

Harry Dresden is a Wizard trying to save people and solve murders. He consults with Special Investigations of Chicago PD working on crimes that are of a supernatural nature. He fights even vampires, demons, skin crawlers, and so much more. Vampires are such a major part of the book b/c there are 3 groups/ or types of vampires; red, white and black court vampires and they are all giving Harry Dresden a hard life.

This is my favorite seris of all the ones I have read and I am usually up for female lead books, but there it is. The books are just that good.

RB (rblindberg) This thread has a lot of interesting suggestions in terms of Vampire books for Adults (so not YA):
