My soy sauce says "Refrigerate after opening."
Website says:
Once opened, the freshness and flavor of the sauce will slowly deteriorate. Therefore, we also recommend refrigerating the soy sauce after opening. Refrigeration helps the flavor and quality characteristics remain at their peak for a longer period. In addition, our soy sauce will not spoil if it is not refrigerated but its quality will decline faster.
Anyway, it's easier to grab something off the refrigerator door than out of a cupboard.

In my dorm fridge:1) Orange Juice
2) Milk
3) Ginger ale
fridge at home:
1) bologna (gwaltney)
2) eggs
3) diet mountain dew
I knew people who would keep their butter all the time on a saucer on the counter, uncovered. The cat would jump up and lick it, then they'd use it...

Creamer, water (Brita water pitcher, not bottled), and milk.Oh, wait--food only? Lemons, cold cuts (we call them "small meats", long story), and eggs.
Nondairy creamer
capers
butter
Really, the number of things that are ALWAYS in my fridge is pretty small, because I live a five minute walk from the store and if I run out of anything I just go get it. There's no point in stocking up on 30 things and having them present at all times.

BunWat wrote: "I currently have: parmesan, edam, cheddar, those mini babybel's in the red wax, and cream cheese. And that's an almost empty fridge because I'm overdue to get to the grocery."You can never have too much cheese! I have parmesan, asiago, cheddar & Oka at the moment. I have a fantastic little cheese shop not too far from me with the most interesting cheese. I'll have to go tomorrow now.
BunWat wrote: "I got some asiago fresco recently. I really liked it! Even more than the aged kind."I haven't tried that- I have to look for it, asiago is one of my favourites. I've been hooked on smoked cheeses lately.
BunWat wrote: "I got some asiago fresco recently. I really liked it! Even more than the aged kind."How funny! I live in area where Asiago is.
I am afraid I don't always have 3 edible things in my fridge but I always have a bottle of home made lemoncello.
Hm. Diet coke, spinach, and eggs. I can go higher than three. Milk, tofu, yogurt, cheese, fruit, beer.
I would have mentioned Diet Coke in mine, but it's in a separate refrigerator. The second fridge has Diet Coke, Diet Cherry Coke, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, Diet Dr. Pepper, Dr. Pepper, Coke Zero, Diet Coke with Lime (a lot of this one), Xing Tea (several flavors), Lipton whole-leaf Iced Tea (sweetened), Moose Drool, Miller Light, several other beers/ales, and a lot of frozen dinners.Pardon me, I'm thirsty and need to go get a coke.
Sorry, Aynge, I was thinking of beverages as being food in that they're not inedible.Actual food items always in my refrigerator:
Romaine lettuce
Parmesan
Colby-jack
2 or more kinds of mustard
either sourdough or roasted garlic bread

Everybody wear a helmet!
Phil wrote: "We have a pool, so that fridge is always stocked for people who come by to swim."What would be cool is if you filled your pool with drinks. So they can cool off with a nice beverage and not even need to leave the pool. There should be a business model for this.
