About a society where two different people are in two different classes. Once you turn a certain age, you will be changed to go over to the other class. The main character's friend doesn't want this, so she runs away. It's the main character's job to find her friend or else she won't be able to go to the other class.

I tried to be as vague as possible, but I think I over detailed it. There was a certain detail that completely gave the book away, so I left it out.
