Andrea | 127 comments I haven't yet, but she's on my list. Didn't she write something about Hawaii too? Or am I confused?

John Dwyer (johndwyer) | 82 comments Great discussion, thanks for starting it Murray. I think travel writing will be many things to many people. One person will read a travel book like Jupiter's Travels and be thrilled at being transported around the world on a motorbike. Others will read the book and make solid plans to visit some of the places mentioned. Travel writing provides entertainment, inspiration and education.
Murray, are you planning on writing a travel book? Do share.

Murray Gunn (murraygunn) | 20 comments Eloquently put, John. My writing is more about culture than the travel or locations. I like to think of it as popular ethnography. Dragon Bones: Two Years Beneath the Skin of a Himalayan Kingdom, a book on my experiences of living in Bhutan, was released last year. I'm about to start reworking my unpublished book on Japanese culture to focus on the experience of being an exchange student.

I haven't read Jupiter's Travels. I'll check it out.

Scott Downing | 3 comments Travel writing is the only place where I can tell all of my stories and get the crazy descriptions, that are always popping into my head, down on the page.

A screwball sense of humor is not always appreciated in daily conversation or at work, but it is always welcome on the word processor.

I wrote Circling Yellowstone to share a summer of humorous adventure with the world. I'm still waiting for the world to do its part...

John Dwyer (johndwyer) | 82 comments Just checked out your book Murray, some great reviews both here on GR and Amazon. Do you have a Kindle version for download?

Murray Gunn (murraygunn) | 20 comments John, I don't. My publisher hasn't gone digital yet. I'm working on it...
