Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I've read it. And thought Fury would get a better heroine. Was kind of interesting seeing things from an Arcadian female perspective that was raised in the truly yester years time period. Her reaction to the present time was a bit snooty. But I could still sort of see where she was coming from.

Diane (dianejan3) I actually liked Lia (surprisingly). I thought their past friendship helped the story along because they already had a connection.
While I would've liked Fury to have a full book, I wasn't disappointed with the Novella.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I think I was more disappointed that the sort of other aspect of the plot was that there was someone out there using magic or those magic control collars against other weres and they had to figure out who was doing that. But that story kind of ran into a dead end and it was just all about Fury and Lia. Which I think it is good they got together. But still when someone is threatening your over all community in a serious way, me thinks everyone should be figuring out who it is. I mean they were mated and all, and Lia could have joined Vane and others to figure out who was this person. But it never happened. :(

Diane (dianejan3) Did you mean the magic suppressing collar or that thing they used to stop a were from turning into human form?

Because if you mean the thingamajig which stopped that were from turning back into a human... Savitar took care of the inventor from the future and he mentioned tracking down the inventions that were already sold.

message 5: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh yea the not turning into human form. I must have forgotten that part about Savitar. Thanks for the refresher.

message 6: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianejan3) No prob. That resolution was kinda rushed anyway. It would've been great if it was a full book and Savitar didn't end up doing most of the work.

message 7: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments True, maybe he swooped in and cleaned everything up so fast I forgot what had happened, lol. But as he is the leader of their council that is how he rolls. He giveth and taketh away all in the same breath.

message 8: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianejan3) Yeah, that's how Savitar rolls.
Doin' stuff super fast so there's more time for the love story. XD

message 9: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments True enough. Can't wait til his book for sure.

message 10: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianejan3) Oh, his heroine better be awesome.

message 11: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'm still voting for Apollymi, :D As so far no one else has dared to button up his shirts when in their prescence but her.

message 12: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianejan3) Oooh. Never thought of that pairing. That'd be cool. I'm not sure how that'll work out with Apollymi being destruction and all, but it'd be cool. XD

message 13: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hey opposites attract. Can't get more opposite than Order and Destruction. I just don't want a human for him though. I mean even though they said chthonians are like mortals with God powers. I just think a human would be cannon fodder in the bigger picture of things he holds order over.

message 14: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianejan3) Don't want a human for him either.
Good point, he'd be better off with someone is already in their world.

Truthfully, I'm not fond of humans. Except for exciting, crazy ones. If Tabitha was 100% human mortal, I would still like her.

But like plain ones with normal lives... eh... I'm not that interested. I like very very few them.

message 15: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (last edited Feb 21, 2011 09:48PM) (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well I like plain ones. Especially if they get swept up like how Amanda did into the world of the DHs. That is kind of cool. The others like Tabitha are pretty ok too. But sometimes there gets to be the fine line between folks like them being themselves and posers creeping in. And then it's like everybody and their cousin is gothic or punk wearing dog collars and stuff. Which I don't like that too much.

Oh and we can't forget that Sav's woman has to be able to catch a wave or two. other wise she is going to not make it on his island.

message 16: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianejan3) I didn't think Amanda was plain. She was a... what was she again? She had powers and all that.
Tabby had powers too, didn't see?

On the top of my head, I like Bride. And I guess Sunshine was okay, she was a little loopy though so maybe that's why I liked her.

True. Sav's woman must be one hell of a woman if she can handle Sav. Surfer chick with cool powers? Beach lovin' Demi-goddess?

message 17: by AlbertaJenn (new)

AlbertaJenn I have such a soft spot for Fury, I really had hoped he would get a full book. The story was good, but could have gone with a bit more somehow.

message 18: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Honestly I don't know what Amanda or Tabby is. I mean I know Amanda has more pyschic ability they said than Tabby. As Tabby is only an empath that can really get intuned with other peoples' emotions. But it was never really said if their family has some witch blood or anything in it. Also there is no real mention if their other sisters have powers too or their parents. Just that they are of Romanian and Cajun descent, but still no clue where the powers come from.

I liked Bride too. I don't know what it was about her book but I totally devoured that book as soon as I got it. I loved Sunshine too especially cause she was loopy, lol. I mean I couldn't get over how she washed and dried Talon's leather pants. And then lost his keys. Oh man that was such a hoot, lol.

Oh yea a beach loving Demi-Goddess could be interesting. But I still think it would be a hoot to see Apollymi on a surf board out of her element even more than Ash. LOL. Imagine her holding on for dear life and threatening him if he let her fall off or if a wave touches her.

message 19: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianejan3) Oh, I thought I missed something mentioning they were witches of some sort.

Apollymi on a surf board... bahaha. Now that I gotta see. XD

@AlbertaJenn: I hear ya. More would've been nice.

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) | 359 comments Unfortunately, I didn't like this story at all. Fury is one of my faves and I wanted him to have a full book. And I hate Lia. Sorry but I didn't like her character and what she's done to him was awful. I didn't feel them and the whole story.

message 21: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Wasn't on my top faves list too much either Sarah. But all the same I'm glad Fury isn't the 5th wheel around Vane and Fang with their lifemates around.

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) | 359 comments I know what you mean but still... I wanted something more for him. *sighs*

But it was cool to see some of the other characters like Vane, Fang and Z. :-)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments And at the very least got to appreciate the chill nature of the Peltiers better when actually seeing how snooty another Arcadian was acting. Just all in the way you look at it I guess.
