((They're walking?))
Dane shrugged as well. Then, suddenly, his hand shot out, just as a pinecone fell from the tree hanging over them. He caught it and scowled. "Damn, that's annoying." His intuition had saved him from many things, but it often got straight up annoying.
Tossing the pinecone over his shoulder, and noticed Jax for the first time. "Hey, you're just gonna leave you friend behind?" He shot a friendly smile to her, then turned slightly towards Kacey's retreating back.

Dane raised his eyebrows and felt very awkward. What was he supposed to do now?
Dane leaned against a tree as they continued their banter.

Dane shrugged, "Not much. Just wandering for now. Looking for a place to settle for the night. The usual." He used his thumbnail to pick some dirt fron underneath his forefinger's nail.
He wrinkled his nose at the thought of sleeping on the ground. "Why would I do that? Who knows what's been down there." He shuddered at the thought. "What about you two?"
((I suppose so.))
Dane sighed impatiently. He hated awkward silences. "Do you guys know if there's a convience store somewhere around here?"

Dane raised his eyebrows. "No. But I thought you might've seen one on the way here." He stopped himself from saying, Eyes are great things. Very useful. If it turned out that they hadn't seen one, he'd have to scavenge for food later tonight. And he wasn't looking forward to that.
"Helpful." Dane commented, digging his hands in his pockets. "I better start gathering food before dark, then." But he stayed were he was, not sure if they were going to leave or say something more.
((Idk what I'm gonna say, so I'll just have Lily flying overhead. Anyone can notice her or whatever.)
Lily sat on the branch of a tree and looked up at the sky. Seeing that it was dusk, she stood and took off flying.

Dane looked too, squinting against the sun. "I don't think so...it doesn't look like a flying refrigerator." He used his hands to shade his eyes. "But who kows? Maybe they've slimmed down." He shrugged. So far, it hadn't come down and attacked them. Maybe it was an overgrown hawk.
"Maybe it hasn't seen us yet."
"Maybe it hasn't seen us yet."
Kristi walked around. She enjooyed the quiet of the woods because it allowed her to hear where things were. During the experiments the whitecoats had accedintly made her blind. She had fashioned a walking stick out of a bigger branch, and whittled it down. Her pack was full of food, and things to ensure survivl on her own. She was an excellent cook. She knew how to make hot dogs cooked on a campfire to taste like a 5 star resturants meal. She smiled slightly, then stopped. She could hear voices. She slowly walked towards the voices and gropped around to make sure she wouldn't hit a tree or something.
Kristi walked towards the voices. "Um...hello? Where exactly are we?" She asked confused. She almost bumped into the girl. She wore sunglasses to cover her sightless eyes. Her pack was over flowing. A small yellow lab was following her. It had a huge leash in which Kristi was holding. A small collor told them he was a seeing eye dog named Jay.
With one glance, Dane saw that she was blind. She must have been some sort of hiker, because she had a full backpack and a seeing eye dog. But then again, she was asking where she was.
He cleared his throat. "You're in the forest. I think your dog might have mislead you." But it's following her... This only added to his unease.

"Oh. Jay? He kinda adopted me...his coller reads wrong. He's not a seeing eye dog. He just...lets say helps me in sticky situations. But do you know exactly what forest? Because there were no signs or anything that I could...um...*read*." Kristi said.
She's almost as suspicious as I am. A blind girl with a pack full of food and a seeing eye dog that wasn't, walking around the forest, claiming that she didn't know where she was because there were no signs to read...that was a long shot. And how did she know that there was any writing on its collar? He had a feeling that she wasn't referring to Braille.
"No sure, sorry." Dane made his voice sound light and truthful. "What are you doing, wandering around the forest anyway."

Kristi looked kinda suspicous. "I am...lets say...I am...different in more ways then you think." She smiled slightly and groped to feel Jay's fur. She found him and started petting him.
(its okay.how are they going to find out she's a bird-kid???)
