Pyro rubbed her shoulder blades-right where her wings connected- which were sore from flinging them out when she'd jumped the car.

Scarlett nodded, not questioning Stella's judgment. The sirens grew louder and louder, until she could make out the flashing lights of two police cars. On the ground, the store-robber tensed. His partner did the same. She smiled cruelly, "Not so brave now, are you?"
