2011 Theme Read - March
And remember, those of you who wanted St. Patrick's Day use as the Read Across America book if you would like.
Good choices Judy, still deciding. I keep flipping back and forth between 3 books for my craft choice.
Read Across America is a program that promotes reading in children and also that day is Dr. Seuss` birthday. So you can either choose a typical mystery for this choice or choose something that is not a mystery. It`s an open book choice for that. For National Craft month just choose a mystery involving some kind of craft (scrapbooking, beading, glass blowing, etc. I hope that make sense.
yah it does thanks!Im now in challange mode
The Winter Challange
The A-Z Challange
My very own 50 book challange
and most lickly now The March theme read
Cassa - clicking on any of the book covers or titles will take you to their page and you'll find a summary of the stories on that page.
Cassa wrote: "PWW quick question does magick count as a craft that stuff like shaministic stuuf"I don't think magic fits the crafting category, it's more like hands on crafts. Candles, scrapbooks, soap making. Things like that.

I changed my Read Across America book to In The Dead of Winter so I can finish my Winter challenge and take another state off of my A-Z Challenge.
I think I'll do A Killer Stitch for my craft mystery and A Cook in Time for my Read Across America book.
I'm in :)Read: 0/2
Read Across America: French Pressed by Cleo Coyle
National Craft Month: Wreath of Deception by Mary Ellen Hughes
found a book on the shelves I've been meaning to read for awhile that has the word America in it so thought that would be appropriate for Read Across America category
and for crafts
I am going to read A Discovery of Witches for my Read Across America book. It looks so good. I can't wait to start it. I think I will read The Quick and the Thread for my craft theme book, but I am not ready to commit.

For this month's theme read I've chosen ]
by Betty Hechtman. It's a crochet mystery. I just love this series...am an avid crocheter and mystery reader, sot o pair them together is dreamy! lol I think this is the 4th in the series.[book:A Stitch in Crime|7213509
I just finished
for the craft portion of the challenge, but not sure about what I'll choose for the Read Across America. Thinking maybe
. Maybe. :)
I just finished
and I've liked it. I've to think about Read Across America. It's very probably I don't choose a book but I pick one in other genre I read this month.

@Grace - I'd love to know what you think of Voices of Dragons. I enjoyed the first two Kitty Norville books by her, and I think I have some of the others on my TBR.
@Nairabell-Sure. I have read the first 4 Kitty books and can't wait to read the rest. She is coming out with a lot of books this year so I am going to read them all. I'll let you know what I think after I finish. I just started the book, and it is already good.

Just bought Stitch Me Deadly for the craft read, and since the cover is about 1/3 green AND I bought it in March, it will meet the requirements for two other challenge books for me this month! (I foolishly obligated myself to about 300 books worth of challenges this year so these little economies are necessary.) my "read across America" will be On What Grounds.
@Melodie,yes, the Kitty Norville series is a great one. It is one of the best that I have read. I figured that if those bboks are so good that her other stuff would be great too.
Still reading Through a Glass, Deadly by Sarah Atwell, which I believe would count as another two-in-one: it's about the art/craft of glass blowing, and is set in Arizona, which I still needed for my states challenge. Slowly picking off those states...

Done with
for National Craft Month. For the Read Across America I'm starting
tonight. That will also take care of the author focus for this month AND help with my personal challenge to myself to try some authors I've collected but never read, with the idea being that if I'm not taken with the first book, I'll donate what I have by that author to the FOL and clear some shelf space.
Finished my second 2011 Theme Read. The books for March were:Read Across America: Walk Two Moonsby Sharon Creech which a wonderful YA book. I gave it ****.
National Craft Month:Wreath of Deceptionby Mary Ellen Hughes. This is the first book I've read by that author and it will not be the last. I gave it ****. I want to see how she develops the characters and works with the setting of Abbotsville.
