Char (CharmaineElaine) I'm not going to give you the satisfaction Tara. Just because I'm not chatting with you on MSN you're getting angry with me. I'm not having it. If I don't want to talk on MSN I don't have to and it's as simple as that. I am 20 years old, I can make my own decisions and I can't be bothered talking on MSN tonight.

Really? Because this post seems angry: Tara-Jayne (BasicallyBooks) wrote: "FINE, i wnt tlk on msn anymore"

I'm not going to sit here and let you treat me like that Tara and you should know that. I see a post like that I will get angry at you. I'm not going to pussyfoot around the issue. You should know me better than that. I had 5 years of being told what I had to do, when I had to do it and being called all the names under the sun. It's taken me nearly 6 and a half years but I'm learning to make my own decisions and I'll be damned before someone makes me feel like the 13 year old child I once was.

Yeah!! I don't think she speaks so hopefully the images are enough.

Still looking for a good crocheting one.

message 169: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Okay, I'll let you know how I get on. :)

I can do one crocheting stitch. I learnt it with a bunny analogy.

message 170: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
I think I need to go through trial and error with it. But I also need to get a hook. I thought I had one but I can't find it now.

If I do manage to learn how to crochet, though, I wanna nab your blanket pattern from you! :P That blanket looks all kinds of awesome sauce!

message 171: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Awww. That sucks. I stole my hook off my mum. She knows.

Haha, feel free but it's a happy accident is my blanket. I ran out of blue wool and my mum had the grey! The stitch is the easiest for me. Thank you. I've been doing it since about February lol.

message 172: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Yeah, but it's the best way of learning anything and I picked up knitting pretty quickly so hopefully this will be the same. I need to find a crafts store here, but I'm not sure where any are so that might be fun.

The pattern to it absolutely rocks! I'm all kinds of jealous that you can produce something so purdyful so fast!

message 173: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Yeah I know what you mean. I nearly gave up on my blanket before I got the hang of it. I'm hoping knitting will be easier. Awww... we got our hooks off the internet.

Cheers. I think it's just the way it's done lol. Awww cheers, although 6 months is an eternity to me! I'm surprised I've managed to stick with it. :)

message 174: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
I gave up on my most recent scarf but that's because the wool sucked major ass. I'll have a cycle around and see if I can spot any arts and crafts shops, but I haven't see any yet so I don't have my hopes up. I might have to order one off the net too.

I like the way it's patterned with those holes. Will you fill the holes with another colour or leave them empty? I've been working on my blanket for years now! :P Though I suppose I do give half of it away to charity.

message 175: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Awww... I hate it when the wool sucks, I've had some dodgy wool before but I like the one I'm using now. (The grey's sparkly) Well, they sell a wider range of stuff on the internet so it may be better in the long run.

No, you don't fill the holes! They stay empty. Haha, well you can't give half a crocheted blanket to charity. :P

message 176: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Yeah, the thread I needed to use was wrapped with stupid wafty stuff that kept breaking. Stupid wool. (Oooh sparkly!) True, there's more of everything on the internet... I've already been back to my new favourite book site. *cough*

It could look good either way. :P If you're skilled at hole filling that is (oo-er!). But it looks really nice as it is. :) True, unless you crocheted it in squares like I'm doing but what would be the point in that?

message 177: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Yeah, that sounds like pathetic wool. (I know! Only I could discover that lol.) There is... WOO! Did you find a way to tell them to organise their books better?

Lol, well my mum hasn't taught me that lol. Oo-er! That does not sound good! I think so too. I like my blanket. I'll post another pic once it's finished. :) I know, that would be pointless since it can be one big one. :)

It was. That'll teach me to buy dirt cheap from Blokker. I had high hopes cuz dirt cheap from Wilkos is very good. (Funnily enough, I think I have a grey that's slightly sparkly, talk about coincidence!) There's a contact us button at the top, so now I just need to contact them.

If she does teach you she can pass on the knowledge. :p Is the blanket in the background one of the same design but with the holes filled? How much longer do you think you'll need to finish it off? Precisely! How many balls of wool have you been through so far?

Lol Tara, I think I know who you're referring to. It's not so much that you have a bf, it's that the guy is 3.5 times your age.

message 181: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Hahaha, sometimes cheap is good but other times not so. Our wool isn't too expensive and it's great. (Wow! It's our psychicness, now we're even buying similar wool! XD) Yay! Well I'll wait payiently to see what they say about it to you.

Hahaha! :P Yes it is the holes aren't filled though. Any pink you see underneath there is my duvet cover lol. My mum made that one, it took her years! I don't know, if I go at the rate I am probably another couple of months, the bigger it gets the longer it takes to do a row. Lol. I have used 4 balls of blue wool that were 100g each. I'm on my 1st ball of grey at 200g. :)

In this case, not so. :( I've got some cheapo stuff from Lidl so I'll see if that's any better. (I know! Where will it end?!) Yes, now to be patient.

Aaah, it's a trick of the photo! It also looks nice. It's cool that she was able to pass the knowledge on to you for you to make your own. :) My mum tried to teach me to knit but it turned out to be very hard for a lefty to teach a righty and she gave up. Ah, so you'll be done and dusted within a year of working on it, funkidy! That's not that much wool actually. I've got through I'd say a good dozen balls working on my blanket.

message 183: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Damn rubbish cheap suff. :( Aaah, Lidl, I don't go to Lidl, it's on the other side of town! XD (I know, we really need to sell our show to Discovery, I think it adds to the awesomeness that we live nowhere near each other! :P) I will try.

Yes it is. Should have put the blanket on the floor but Mischief would have sneaked into the pic lol! It is. :) My mum can tell you that. I think it's because you need to make it a mirror image and that can't be done. I will! I'm so pleased because then I will be able to alternate my blankets. Well if you think about it, with knitting your using wool over the whole area but you have the gaps with crocheting. (That makes me sound super smart :))

message 184: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
I know, I have learnt my lesson though. I only went because they had a special offer on wool. Usually I don't set foot in there. (I know, but we may well be just too pro for Discovery to handle!) Yes I'm not very patient either.

Lol :P where was he when you took it? Yup, but she perservered whereas my mum gave up, lol. That's why I like knitting scarves. ^^ I like to alternate what scarf I'm wearing. Very true, knitting uses up a lot of wool.

message 185: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Well learning is all we can do. You weren't to know it was going to be awful. Well you kind of knew because you stayed away from the place. (This is true. We may need a bigger TV network! :P)

I have no idea. I think I outran him though. (That doesn't happen often.) She did, I'll give her credit for that. She gave up on the knitting though. Haha! Alternating things is awesome. I have some super long pink ones that I love to wear in the winter. It does indeed. *nods wisely*

I haven't tried the Lidl wool yet. :p It's in my chest of drawers, waiting. (What is there that's bigger? We should make our own and take over the world!)

I bet it doesn't! He obviously wasn't aware that there was any photography going on of he'd have been there, preening himself. I just did some more of my knitting... stupid wool. I know! I love alternating scarves and hats. I need to learn how to make myself a hat. My super long one is a boring brown but it can be wrapped 5 times around my neck so it's worth keeping around! I've just checked my scarf and I think I'm going to need 4 more balls to finish it. :/

message 187: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Haha, well I hope it's better than what you're using. Haha, it will keep waiting until you want it. (I'm not sure. We should! World domination, here we come! I could use the money we make with our chain of successful shows to sponsor Tom! I like thins idea!)

Yeah, I sneaked away while he was in his tent. Oooh. :) Oh. :( It's awesome! I don't wear hats, they don't go with my headbands. :P Well, at least it keeps you warm. Ouch. How many balls do you have? :/

message 188: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
So do I! I'll cry if it's another bad load. It will :P It may be waiting a long time. (I know! Our names will be known in every home! You can! I will join you in this sponsoring endeavour so you can have your name plastered across his chest! XD)

Lol, he was too busy admiring his new toy to notice your absence! Missed out opportunity there! I do, I have to protect my ears. It does, it was necessary when I was delivering post. I've got one more somewhere so I'm going to need to buy another three.

message 189: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Awww... I'll feel your pain, but I won't cry with you. :P Lol, poor wool. It needs you to knit it. It's calling your name. Can't you hear it? (Yes they will! Yes! This idea is everything to me now. Plus if pipi boy is still his team-mate... you can scrawl your name across his! XD)

He was, silly boy. He'll get bored of it eventually but right now he's constantly in there! I know. I'm genuinely gutted for him. (Not.) Awww, I should too, I get earache so easily but I like my hair too much. I can imagine it being a bit nippy noodles in the winter. Gah! You have to buy more! :(

message 190: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Haha, thank you for sharing my pain! It does, but first I need to translate the Dutch instructions that go with it and make sure I understand how to do the stitch. (That is a very good idea! Lay claim! Haha.)

At least it's proved very popular! Bruce manipulated one of his teddies into his box and now he doesn't fit in with it! That's why I wear mine, if I don't protect my ears I go deaf for short periods. :/ It was the cold air getting down your chest that was the worst. I know! The pain! :(

message 191: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) It's okay. I've used dodgy wool before, it means I can sympathise. Aaah, well you need to explain that to the wool. How is it supposed to know that you aren't Dutch? (It's definitely Dutch and not Hollandish isn't it?) (Yes! Then they have to come husky sledding with us! Haha!)

It has, my mum's very grateful for that. Awww, poor Bruce, he just wanted a friend! :( Mischief has 4 toys in with him. He ignores them for the most part but we were playing with one earlier. :) That really sucks! :/ Mine aren't that bad but it does kill. I really should wear a hat. I may start. I can imagine. There are just certain bits that have to be kept warm. It's devastating. :(

message 192: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
I know, how dare it not take into consideration that non-Dutchies might be attempting to knit with it?! (Yes it's definitely Dutch. :P I don't think Hollandish exists.)(And keep us warm at night in tents!)

Buy of the year, that! Maybe he did. :P He's not shown any interest in it since I emptied it for him, though. I had big problems with my ears as a child and they've followed me through to adulthood. It's just one of those things I do naturally now. If you carry a brush with you you can sort your hair out easily enough when you take it off.

message 193: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I know! It's just offensive! I for one wouldn't be impressed. (Lol, I always get them mixed up. Hollandish is evidently Charmainenglish. :P) (I never said that! That wasn't me! It would be nice though.)

It is! He definitely did if he doesn't like it anymore! :P I get what you mean, I have problems that have plagued me since childhood. I guess, but my hair doesn't like hairbrushes. It hisses at them. It's very dramatic is my hair. It's got an ASBO. :P

message 194: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Especially as English is the most widely spoken language and it has it in a bunch of Eastern European languages, German, Dutch and nothing else! Grr! (Yes, I think that may well be the case!)(Didn't you? :P I could go find Tara-planted proof if you like! ;) )

Now that you've typed that he's woken up and come over to sniff it! XD At least we're conditioned to deal with them! Aaah, that doesn't help. Mine does, but I have to use my fingers as well to get some volume back.

message 195: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I know. That must be so annoying. (It doesn't surprise me.) (No I didn't. :P Really? Go for it. I know I'm innocent! (For once.))

Haha, I have encouraged him to love his box. XD It's true. No it doesn't but if it helps my ears being covered I will do it.

It is. Because then I have to motivate myself to get the internet running and then to drag myself away from it again. Eugh. (I'm sure you did! But I can't be bothered to look through 6 or 7 spam threads to find it again. :p So I guess you win this one!)

You have! Though he hasn't been inside since he headbutted it from the inside and it moved!!!!! You could get earmuffs. They're all the rage here!

message 197: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I really should learn another language, it would make me seem more well travelled. :P Yeah, Yeah I can see why you'd have to motivate yourself... hence why I should learn another language as a precaution. I don't want to buy wool from people who don't speak English! (I think you brought up the initial idea and I agreed because Tom is my weak spot lol.)

YAY! Oh no! It moved! What was it thinking doing that? I could, but they aren't all the rage here. I'd look like an idiot. :P
