message 2108: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Change of plan, now going to read Cinder - Marissa Meyer instead.

message 2109: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Bloodlines is essentially a continuation of the Vampire Academy series, changing from following Rose and Dimitri to following a character introduced in book 4, another who didn't get much attention till book 6 and "the other guy".

A lot of ideas introduced in the last VA book must carry over into Bloodlines. I was seriously peeved that Last Sacrifice didn't offer an actual conclusion to the series as so much was left open.

message 2110: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Rea, I was overjoyed when I managed to get both Bloodlines books and now I've gotta send them back as I've not read VA :(

message 2111: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
I haven't read Bloodlines, so it might be possible to read it without having read VA, but as I say, Mead leaves a lot open at the end of VA that she must be picking up again in BL. :(

message 2112: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) That what it sounds like and I've only read her Succubus series x

Aww sorry Jeshu. It might have been a right place, right time thing for me. I loved the world building and the setting.

I'm reading Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys , which is actually pretty heavy-going. It's a very poignant reminder that Hitler is not the only one who committed unspeakable atrocities in Europe during WW2.
