Book49:20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - Jules Verne
Ooofff.. 12 days it took me to finish this one. Tho it was from no fault of the novel, which I loved. I just had a couple of busy weeks back to back which left me less reading time :(Tonite I am starting--
Book50:Invitation To A Beheading - Vladamir Nabokov
Interesting novel. I will be reading more from this guy in the future!I have completed my 50 book challenge.. and I am 4 months ahead of myself!! Yeah for me!!
Book51:The Abstinence Teacher - Tom Perrotta

Book52:The Old Man And The Sea - Ernest Hemingway
TTP was a really interesting novel. Scratch another off the Lost Lit List for me :DStarting today:

JTTCOTE took a little while to get through. i had alot going on last week, and was really only able to dig in this week :)starting in a bit:
Book56:Something Wicked This Way Comes - Ray Bradbury
Cynthia, do you mean what other challenge might I try? i dont know, I am still trying to fillup my author challenge....Something Wicked This Way Comes was a tough novel for me, i had to force myself to read it quickly... I much prefered the movie to the novel.
Last nite I started
Book57:Motherless Brooklyn
Kafka is done. Phew. I never thought I would read one of his novels. And thank goodness it was a short one :)ALready started for the Sawyers Book Club on Myspace:
Book59:Wrinkle In Time - L'engle
WIT is over and done with. I really should steer clear of YA books....uhhh...Starting:
Book60:The Cave - Saramago
Sorry. I forgot to update, between coming back from vacation and wroking this weekend... I finished this novel three days ago. Wow. wow wow wow.Starting--
Book61:Heart Of Darkness - Conrad
Not sure why Heart of Darkness is on the Lost Lit List.. if its linked to the show, its not easy to identify why. Going to Start--
Book62:Laughter In The Dark - Nabokov
Heart of Darkness was referenced in some of the dialog on Lost. Episode: Walkabout, Numbers
Reference: Tell me something.. How come any time there's a hike into the heart of darkness, you sign up?" Jack to Kate.
"One minute you're happy go lucky good time Hurley, the next you're Colonel bloody Kurtz." Charlie to Hurley.
You've got the Jungle [the island], the natives[the others], colonization and control of the land[Dharma], the crazy leader[Ben], the ambiguity of morality and the darkness within each person.
I think I'm going to start reading off that list...since I haen't read most of them.
Wow, Kristen, you must be a huge Lost fan! I feel like a blind person for not having seen those connections. I think I was looking for something deeper and totally missed the obvious!Finished Laughter in the Dark.
Onto--
Book63: The Pearl - Steinbeck
whoda thunk a short book like The Pearl would take me the better part of three days? It's all because of work, I swear!Reading now--

I hate it when a book just sort of ....ends....Havent decided what to read next. Will figure it out in the morning!
