Thanks Autumm- I wonder if I missed them somehow- I will go back and check the whole thread. I hope she's feeling well.

I pick for Sheswitches...(hope there is something here for you)
Places I'm going (Books from their TBR shelf)
1. Culture Shock – Well I was going to go with that book of yours on your TBR list called the The Milk Bitch Trilogy cause that was totally wild sounding. (Pick a book from their TBR that you've never heard of or don't know much about.)
2. Airport Purchases – Gotta recommend Addicted because it is awesome and the cover is beautiful! (Pick a book that you would buy at an airport because the cover caught your eye as you were walking past.)
3. Making Those Connections – I don’t actually understand how to find the info on this selection but I see that you have Laid Bare by Lauren Danes on your list and it is the beginning of a series. I loved it. (Pick a book that links to a book that they've read and rated highly (could be by author, series, theme etc)
Places I've Been (Books you’ve read)
4. Going back there for sure – Away from Me by Sophia Oak. I honestly haven’t read too many books where the location is exotic. But I see the genre of books you like so you may really like this one. (pick a book in an exotic locale that has made you want to pack your bags and travel to where the book is set
5. Making space in the luggage – “Belly of the Beast” was my first “kinky read” and it is very memorable to me. (mid way through a trip you need to get rid of some luggage weight. Pick the book you could never leave behind even if you knew you could get another copy back home.)
6. Heading home – “Two Masters for Alex” by Claire Thompson. I really loved this book and the sequel “Two Loves for Alex” a lot. (pick the book that's going to help you get through an eight hour train / plane ride in economy seats.
Planning the Next Trip (buddy reads)
(It’s expected that if the person you’re picking for selects one of these that you’ll read it as well)
Both you and your selectee chose a country you would like to go to. Pick:
7. One book set in the country you chose. I chose Scotland. The Bride (Laird’s Fiancees #1 by Julie Garwood) never read but it was rated high in the Goodread’s list. (honestly, doesn’t look like your thing)
8. One book set in the country they chose. You chose Italy. I had to giggle because when I finally found a book, you had already read it. LOL Okay how about “The Wind Dancer” was recommended by alot of readers on Smart Bitches’ website. That was hard to choose.

So funny...but so true. I'm still waiting too....sigh.... hate waiting. I'm am Aries and we don't wait well. We are very impulsive but we also like to procrastinate too. We are oxymorons...I think I just called myself a moron
Well never mind then.

You have Anja down as giving me picks but I have not received any. I am hoping you saw them somewhere on here and I missed them. :)"
My bad obviously. Sorry Fran, despite double checking my list I've obviously imagined Anja's posting because I can't find it either :S I'll fix the listing now.

I'll be sending out a PM later tonight to those who haven't made their picks yet.

Thanks Inga, I'll put you down on the list of lovely volunteers willing to do a second round of picks if need be.

I put
Beyond the Highland Mist on hold at the library. I'll let you know when I pick it up. In the meantime, I plan to read The Iron Daughter. The other buddy read you sug..."
Yes I have read Neverwhere and I thought it was amazing! It's like a dark twisted Alice in Wonderland. I would definitely read it again as well! Yeah, just let me know when you pick up Beyond the Highland Mist.

Hope you find something that trips your trigger, if not I can repick for you:)
Places I'm Going

2. Airport Purchases - Pick a book that you would buy at an airport because the cover caught your eye as you were walking past Tall, Dark and Dangerous Suzanne Brockman

5. Making space in the luggage – mid way through a trip you need to get rid of some luggage weight. Pick the book you could never leave behind even if you knew you could get another copy back home. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Didn’t see it in your read shelf. I don’t know how much room in the suitcase this would take up. But it would be worth it.
6. Heading home - pick the book that's going to help you get through an eight hour train / plane ride in economy seats. Zero at the Bone Jane Seville
Planning the Next Trip (buddy reads)
(It’s expected that if the person you’re picking for selects one of these that you’ll read it as well)

9. Audio book - if you have an audio book that that you loved list it here and explain why this book was great in audio format. You never know, you may entice someone to try audio books for the first time.
I don’t do audios yet. I have plans to, but I can’t seem to empty my kindle which is my goal before I go and get an audible account

I am so excited to pick for you. We have a lot of books in common so it wasn't all that hard. If you don't see anything you are interested in reading, I am more than happy to try again..."
Thanks LethalLovely! I'll have a good look through the recs. I'm pretty sure I'll find at least ONE book in here! :)

Sorry for the delay! Hope there's something in here that works for you! Let me know if not, and I'll try again.
Place's I'm Going (Books From Your TBR)
1. Culture shock: The Way of Shadows. Looks good from the cover.
2. Airport purchase: The Gargoyle. How could you resist that cover?
3. Making Those Connections: Ten Things I Love About You. I love this book, and you enjoyed the previous one, and most Julia Quinn's so I figured it was a good bet.
Places I've Been (Books I’ve read)
4. Going back there for sure: The Templar Legacy. Sorta like The Da Vinci Code, but better...
5. Making space in the luggage: These Old Shades. It's on your TBR, too.

Planning the Next Trip (buddy reads)
7. French Polynesia - Rules of an Engagement
8. Italy - Nightwalker or Nicholas

Optional Pick
9. Audio book - Soulless I love audiobooks and I’ve been eyeballing this one myself for a while. Halfway to the Grave I recently listened to this book and really enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure at first that I’d like the narrator but I ended up loving her Bones.

(sorry first timer again)"
Typically I post what book I am going to read from my choices and then I post a mini review, if I liked it or not, etc. With the two buddy reads, I would think it would be important to let your picker know if they need to pick up a book to read a long with you.

Sorry I was delayed in getting your picks up. I am a night shift nurse and I just finished working the weekend. I hope you find something interesting on the list. If not let me know and I will try agsin.
Places I'm Going (Books from your TBR)
1.Culture Shock: Enchanted, Inc. by Shanna Swendson. Good rating, sounds fun and has a cute cover.
2.Airport Purchases: Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione. I just couldn't resist a book about a demon run hospital. Aren't they all.
3.Making Those Connections: Lover Eternal by J R Ward. Gotta love the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Places I've Been (Books I've Read)
4.Going Back There For Sure:
*Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Books set in space are not my favorite, but this got me hooked on the series. Plus is an early Sherrilyn Kenyon.
*The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter. If you prefer something on the planet Earth, this one is set in Budapest.
5.Space in the Luggage: Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. Beginning of a great series. I could never leave Cat and Bones behind.
6.Heading Home: Vision in White by Nora Roberts. Nice easy read for that long plane or train ride.

Planning the Next Trip(Buddy Reads)
8.SCOTLAND: My Wicked Highlander by Jen Holling. This one has been calling from my TBR pile.
9.AUSTRALIA: Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur. Fantastic series! I have been thinking about re-reading it and this is a good excuse.

OPTIONAL AUDIOBOOK
9.The Good, the Bad, and the Undead by Kim Harrison. I saw you have read the first Hollows book. The narrator does a great job with this series.

Thanks for the recommendations. I am planning to read 2 or 3 of the books.
Stormwalker by Allyson James
Laid Bare by Lauren Dane
My Wicked Highlander by Jen Holling

Anja, thanks so much for the great recs! Although you had spotty internet connection, I hope your alien abduction was still a good time.
What to choose...you have given me so much to work with!! I will definitely read Dead in the Family, will most likely get to Wicked Lovely, won't be able to read The Sweetest Thing in time for March b/c it doesn't come out till the end of the month, but will read it in April, and I will try to get to Anna and the French Kiss this month too (I have it as a free download on my kindle- great pick!)
Thanks again for your great choices!
Tugce Nida, thank you for your recs! they are absolutely wonderful, i think I'll go with Memoirs of a Geisha though, had that one on my tbr pile for a while now. (:
@ PhotoJim ,
hey hey, i am honestly sorry that i haven't done your recs yet. I hope you can wait just a day longer, because i am super duper busy with school these days, but tomorrow they'll be here - promise! (:

Well, I was hoping to track down my pick last weekend. But I guess I can try next weekend. I can be patient another day.

is it too late? if not, I'd go to Australia (Sidney)."
Sorry Melanie, it is too late. I can put you on the list if someone doesn't get their picks but no guarantees.

I have just recently discovered Lisa Kleypas. I will for sure look up that book "Where Dreams Begin".It's nice to have a rec to know what book to go next. Thank you!
The Scotland book you recommended, "Destiny Kills" sure has a wide variety of ratings. Interesting that you'd recommend a paranormal type of Scottish book. Usually when I mention Scotland, someone is quick to recommend a historical novel.

Thanks for the great recommendations BJ Rose. Tears of the Moon & Heart of the Sea sound really interesting, so later today I am going to check if my local library has either one of them. Fingers crossed. :)

Sorry I didn't get to this sooner, but I was suddenly busy. Here are your picks! Hope you find something that you like!
Places I'm going (Books from their TBR shelf)
1. Culture Shock - Dark Mirror by M.J. Putney
I've never heard of this author or read a book quite like this, but it looks pretty interesting.
2. Airport Purchases - The False Princess by Eilis O'Neal
The title grabbed me so I thought I'd pick this one.
3. Making Those Connections - The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen
You seemed to like the last book in the series, so this should be enjoyable for you as well.
Places I've Been (Books you’ve read)
4. Going back there for sure - Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
I love this book. It has some great insights on Japanese culture and it really made me feel like I was there.
5. Making space in the luggage – Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer
I was hooked on this book the minute I started reading it! I would not want to give it up.
6. Heading home - The Maze Runner by James Dashner
This book is full of twists and turns, making it easy to become engrossed in and hard to put down!
Planning the Next Trip (buddy reads)
7. Set in England: The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham
I highly recommend this book. It's well-written and not too gory.
8. Set in France: The Bad Queen: Rules and Instructions for Marie-Antoinette by Carolyn Meyer
A fictionalized account of the life of Marie-Antoinette. I've never read this, but if you're willing to read it, then so will I.
Enjoy!

Melanie, i think Tania can consider you as a volunteer.

*takes a bow* I wish it were not so big, but even trying to restrain from participating in all the challenges i want to do i fail to lower it. Just reading over some recommendations from you guys multiplies it!

Hope something appeals to your (spring) tastes if not, let me know!!

Hey Ari!
So, I think I am going to do the buddy reads you suggested. I know I'm only 'supposed' to pick out one book, but I'm putting these on my list for the month (hey, I'll read at least one of them, if not all). Since a couple are buddy reads, let me know which one you want to read too. :D
Since I actually own [book:Pigs in Heaven and Kissing the Virgin's Mouth: A Novel, I'll try to read those too, but no promises on them.
I'll definitely read one or all of these:
I Capture the Castle
Galileo's Daughter: A Historical Memoir of Science, Faith and Love
The Leopard
I'll update as I go! Thanks for the picks!

(sorry first timer again)"
You can (but don't have to) put what book you're going to read now. And then post a mini review when you're done.

I know for sure I will try to pick up
Dark Mirror, The False Princess, and The Mephisto Club. I know for sure that I already have one of those, so maybe after those I will try one of the others!
PhotoJim,
once again sorry for late recs. It was actually quite a challenge picking books for you, but a good one. (: I hope you'll find something for yourself, I tried to do my best and some of the books might be outside of your usual reading box, but you know what they say - try something new and you might be surprised. You only had 2 books on your TBR shelf so I juggled a little bit there and then just decided to put those 2 books because there really wasn't anything else to pick, hope you don't mind? "/
Places I'm going
1. Culture Shock - Déjà Dead (Temperance Brennan #1) by Kathy Reichs // To be honest, I am really not into crime stories so I don't know anything about the author or the series. The synopsis seems pretty interesting though.
2. Airport Purchases - With Good Behavior (The Conduct Series #1) by Jennifer Lane // I love the cover, I love the storyline and I even added the book to my TBR pile. I love those handcuffs on the cover and it's simple, classy, it makes you want to know what's going on in the book.
3. Making Those Connections - Truly Madly Yours by Rachel Gibson // I saw that you read a few of her books and the rates were quite high (2x4* and 3x3*). Her writing is quite simple and at least I found this book quite funny, an easy breezy read, typical chic-lit, but still with some interesting twists. The storyline might be predictable at times but I really like heroines spirit. (:
Places I've Been
4. Going back there for sure - Born in Fire (Born In trilogy #1) by Nora Roberts // It's Ireland! Nora pays a lot of attention to the nature in this trilogy and when you imagine incredibly green location with sea cliffs and typical irish weather...unbelieavable! She makes it sound so real, so near you. I loved this trilogy, I really did.
5. Making space in the luggage – Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho // I think I will always recommend one of his books here just because he has such a big influence on me. This book is one of my favorites, it gave me a completely new perspective on life, suicide, dying and taking chances. The characters are amazing.
6. Heading home - The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon // It took me a lot of intense thinking to come up with this one. It was the first book I read this year, I started reading in on 1st January at 4 in the morning and stayed awake for more than 24 hours because I wanted to finish it. It's interesting, different. Some define it as young adult, but I think that opinion on the book and understanding of it would depend on the generation. I really liked it, even though I had to read it for school. Might be the best obligatory book I ever read.
Planning the Next Trip
7. Australia: Mutant Message Down Under by Marlo Morgan // Haven't read this one, but I found it while I was searching through the set-in-Australia pile and the story is quite interesting. Not something I usually read so it would be a nice change.
8. New Zealand: The Colour by Rose Tremain //A historical book and just the kind of I would love to read. (: Tell me if you want to read it with me since I'll be reading it anyhow.
So this is it! (: I hope you find something for yourself. Let me know. ^^

Thanks for the picks! I'm probably going to go with My Immortal or The Demon You Know since I'm trying to whittle down my TBR pile.
