March - Pick It For Me Challenge
lol - I have a pretty good chance in the future of being stationed in Japan...most places I want to visit are in the middle east because i've been given a brief temptation and not enough to satisfy - 2 days in Jordan, seeing Egypt as I was going through the Suez Canal...that's why I said Egypt before all this madnessAshleyAlexis wrote: "Delicious Dee you probably wont want to be hanging out in Egypt anytime soon... Come visit Japan with me! =p"
Ohh!! what Fun challenge!!!!! :) **express in**mm.... i grew up sorta of all over the map..Japan would be a first! :)
I'm in..and I choose Ireland. Also, I'm in the process of moving and things might be too crazy in that last week of February, so please pair me with someone who would be lenient enough if I don't get their recs immediately. Thanks.

Will do
I'm in and I would love to go to Banff, so I'll stay right here in Canada (I would just like to be on the other side of it)! : )I'm not sure how the pairings are going to work but I can be very patient for Yz if no one else wants to join me for a scenic vacation in the Rockies.

WOW - great pic Sara! My parents went to Banff years ago and RAVED about it! ...I'm down for the US, so I'm on your continent...
Jane (PS) wrote: "WOW - great pic Sara! My parents went to Banff years ago and RAVED about it! ...I'm down for the US, so I'm on your continent..."We even chose the same side of the continent! An Alaskan cruise is very high on my list of "money is no object" places to go, so we have fairly similar vacation ideas.
My parents have been to Alaska a couple of times - they also LOVED (couldn't use RAVE again) the Alaskan cruise they went on. I was planning to head there about 10 years ago, but life got in the way! Hopefully my husband and I can get there sometime in the next 10 years! LOL!
Good luck with that! My grandparents took a motor home around a good chunk of North America when my Grandpa retired and I loved the pictures of Alaska the most. Hopefully we both make it and can be the ones raving about it!!!
I'm in.... if money was no object, can I just pick Europe? If I have to pick ONE country - Great Britain/UK... that way I get Scotland/England/Wales & Ireland :). I'm being difficult.

They go by country, I think.
Ah, Banff. Just a hop and a skip down the road from me here in Edmonton. ;-) I like Jasper myself; less commercialized.
Count me in. There are so many places I want to go but I guess my number 1 would have to be Scotland.
I'm in I really want to visit Japan.I read the rules over and over and over... The aim is to recommend a book to your partner?
Yeap. Using a pairing method, with the country you will like to visit. Tania will be pairing you will somebody else and you will choose recommendations for your partner, and they for you.
Cynthia,You would be recommending more than one book, usually between 6-8 depending on the rules that Tania will post on the 24th. The rules will also outline the criteria for the picks (they usually change a bit month to month.) If you want to get an idea, just check the February Pick It For Me challenge.
Juana "Darkness" wrote: "I have a question. When will you be making the pairings?"Tania will be posting the pairings no later than the 25th. You'll have until the 2nd of March to make the recommendations to your partner.

Oh good, my brain is muggy right now!LOL *kisses*
there is so much history in some of those countries...Egypt and the Pyraminds; South Africa and what went on during the Aparthied, stuff like that...plus you look just to the east in the asia/middle east countires - Jordan and Petra (the city built in the rock)
I would go too, the problem is there is just too many places I would like to go. Especially since I will be lucky to go to any of them.

Hey guys, only 5 more days(!!!) till sign ups close and the rules will be revealed. For those first timers here's how it basically works.
After sign ups are closed I'll put your names and country into a magical PIFM randomiser and select you someone to choose for. This will get posted along with the rules for this month. You'll select 8 books (or nine - there's an optional pick this month) from their TBR shelves and your read shelf.
The rules change most months and give you guidance on what criteria you should use when selecting the books. You have until 2nd of March to make your picks and post them here.
Whilst you're doing that, someone else is doing your picks for you. When you receive them you pick a book off the list and get reading. You only have to complete one book to have completed the challenge, although many of us end up completing more because we just can't resist.
The only time you'll need to read more than one book in the month to complete the challenge is if the person you are picking for picks one of the buddy read books from the list you gave them. A buddy read is a specific category in the rules and usually works best if it's a book that you and your pickee both have on your TBR shelves (although that doesn't have to be the case and may not be this month due to the rules). If they pick it - you need to read it as well as the book you select from the list picked for you.
Clear as mud?

What a difficult question! I've been to Italy (8 cities), Paris, London, twice to Spain (6 cities) and as native of the Caribbean, I've been to PR and DR.
I'm debating between Russia (lots to see in a month), Galapagos Islands or Peru.
I think I'll go with Peru...my husband has had a recurring dream since he's a boy of being in Machu Picchu. :)
