March - Pick It For Me Challenge
KatherineI finished If You Dare last night. I really liked it. I know that I'll pick up the others in the series later.
If I have time in the month I'll try to tackle another of your picks for me. I'll let you know.
Thanks!
Lacy, thanks for the great picks. I read Devil In My Bed and finished in the wee hours of this morning. I've loved the author's work in the past but this book was my least favorite. I had problems with the plot but the hero was a sweetie.I'm eyeballing a few others from your list. After I finish my other challenges, I'll see what jumps out at me.

Hi Lacy, I'm so happy you liked this one, I'm also interested in your opinion of Pillars Of The Earth if you get you read it, it sounded really interesting.:)

I finally narrowed my pick down to The Giver. I picked it up from the library today. Looking forward to it. :)
Annabell my book
came in the mail today *pets pretty cover* so as soon as I finish the book I am currently reading, I'll dive in. Thanks again!SheSwitches - one of the books
I picked for you, I decided I needed to read it too. LOL! So I ordered it from the library. This was fun. Thanks for all the organization that goes into these challenges. I know I really appreciated it!

I found myself looking for your stats right after the pairings were posted. Took me a while to realize i had not missed it but that members needed to make the recs first.LOL!
Looks like this month is very PNR/UF geared.

Goddess, already?! You go BJ!

Tania has done a fantastic job, hasn't she? Thank you so much girlie for hosting the challenge this month!

That's funny Rossy.
I've definitely seen months with even more PRN/UF, so this isn't too bad.
Finished Fallen. I loved it - thanks Shelley. Now I need to go get book two. Good thing I have a Border's coupon!
Rachel wrote:"I finally narrowed my pick down to The Giver. I picked it up from the library today. Looking forward to it. :)"oui! thats an excellent book!! great choice Rachel!!
Happy reading! ;)
I finished Magic in the Wind (Drake Sisters, #1) today. I enjoyed it - I like the characters, the premise and the story! Thanks for the suggestion AshleyAlexis. =) I hope to read another of your suggestions as time allows this month.
Rossy wrote: "Tania has done a fantastic job, hasn't she? Thank you so much girlie for hosting the challenge this month!"You're very welcome - its been fun!!! Going to start updating the read stats this afternoon (seeing as though we have aheap of overachievers here) :)
I was able to finish both The Smoke Thief and Garden Spells this week. I must say that Garden Spells was way better than I imagined it would be. Debbie deserves major kudos for recommending it and I'm definitely going to check out any other books by the same author. On top of those two, I'll have time to pick up and read The Bride this week as well. My first Pick It For Me challenge was an astounding success!
Amanda, I have Garden Spells to read in another book of the month challenge from a different forum. I hear it is good so your comment sounds promising.
Anja, I finished First Grave On The Right- my library had it in so I grabbed it. It has gotten so many great reviews I was expecting something really special, but it wasn't. I liked it but didn't love it. I am curious enough about the characters that I may pick up the next in the series when it comes out. Thanks for the rec, I am still going to read Dead in the Family this month too.

Sarah Addison Allen has quickly become one of my favorite authors. She is suppose to have a new one out soon - patiently waiting :o)
i saw SAA's new book show up on my Goodreads March email this morning - i think it's supposed to be out around the 20th (not soon enough!!)
lol, I feel the same way, I tried to get it from a couple of different early programs - but no luck for me there. I just have to wait a little longer.

Sure that sounds cool. What exactly is a buddy read? I mean obviously it means we read the same book at the same time but is there more to it?
Hey Kate,
Didn't really like Shameless (but I really shouldn't be going anywhere near Harlequin anyway, too stereotype for me)
I'm going to read Welcome to Temptation probably.

I will definitely keep you posted. I am pretty sure that I will get to it. =0)
Michelle wrote: "What exactly is a buddy read? I mean obviously it means we read the same book at the same time but is there more to it? "That's it, Michelle! Nothing more to it! :p
Michelle wrote: "Sure that sounds cool. What exactly is a buddy read? I mean obviously it means we read the same book at the same time but is there more to it?"Nope that's as complicated as it gets.
Michelle wrote: "Amanda, I have Garden Spells to read in another book of the month challenge from a different forum. I hear it is good so your comment sounds promising.
"Definitely give it a shot. If you're familiar with Practical Magic, either the movie or book and you happened to enjoy it, then you'll probably really like this. It's a very heartwarming read!
Jennifer,You're 2-for-2 in the Recommendations Department! I enjoyed Agnes and the Hitman a lot more than I expected to, since I've been disappointed in past chick-lit reads. I'm glad I didn't let my dislike of Don't Look Down keep me from trying this one. I did a lot of laughing!
BJ Rose,I am so glad you liked both books. Every time I think of Agnes and the Hitman I remember what Agnes said about Dove ice cream and I laugh. :)
Alrighty..Annabel picked Surrender to Me by Shayla Black and I just finished it. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars and I did review it if anyone wants to take a peak.
I can't believe there are so many who have already finished their book. I just started mine today. Come on, it's only the 6th! Overachievers, indeed.
LOL, Kami! I started one of mine yesterday as well but will have to put it down for a while to read another book. :)
Ok Jane (PS), so I read Obsession Untamed and loved it, which I already knew I would!! It is about shape shifters and it is hot and sexy if you're ever looking for something to read that is quick and easy this is the series!! Also, I finished Darkfever and I still can't decide if I like it or not. I guess I'm just going to have to read the next one. I have Dark Lover still to read and of course Tomorrow, When the War Began. Looking forward to or buddy read!!
Elke, I finished Fairy Tale and give it 3 stars. It was a cute little young adult story. It was similar to another young adult fairy tale I read, Wings. Wings was a better story and I gave it 4 stars. In Fairy Tale the boy is a fairy, in Wings it is the girl. In this one I thought it was weird that the protagonist is completely psychic, and no one thinks that is unusual. I want to also read Autumn for this month's pick me challenge.Miss, I also got Chocolat and Oscar and Lucinda from the library if you wanted to do the buddy read.
Autumn wrote: "Rachel wrote:"I finally narrowed my pick down to The Giver. I picked it up from the library today. Looking forward to it. :)"oui! thats an excellent book!! great choice Rachel!!
Happy reading! ;)"
Finished my book! Haven't posted a review yet as it is still too fresh in my mind, but I enjoyed it. (:
Aleksandra, finished Truly Madly Yours by Rachel Gibson *** (3/7). A good solid contemporary all the way around. Loved the build-up. Loved the history. Good start as well. I just think she let him off the hook WAAAAY too easy. Thanks for the good recommendation.
Melissa wrote: "Ok Jane (PS), so I read Obsession Untamed and loved it, which I already knew I would!! I'm actually right to start the buddy read now if it suits you...
Valerie: I finished Blaze of Memory yesterday (selected from my TBR pile). I'm so glad I've read it but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I found the story very disjointed and felt quite disassociated from the characters. Very unusual for a NSingh book! I'll be reading Pleasure Unbound somtime in the next fortnight...
SarahI read The Iron Daughterover the weekend. I loved it! The end left you hanging but luckily, I already have
checked out from the library. I picked up
from the library today although I have a couple of other books I have to read first.
Cathy wrote: "SarahI read The Iron Daughterover the weekend. I loved it! The end left you hanging but luckily, I already have

Yay I'm glad you like The Iron Daughter, I have some other books planned before I get to that but if not this month hopefully next month...
Yay I'm excited for Beyond the Highland Mist and I know you'll love it. Just let me know when you're gonna start it. :)
(Apparently I say "Yay" a lot!)
Jane (PS) wrote: "Melissa wrote: "Ok Jane (PS), so I read Obsession Untamed and loved it, which I already knew I would!! I have the last one, but I have been putting off reading it because I'm not ready to say goodbye to Mac and JZB yet. Sometimes if I really love a series, I hate to finish it, since there will never be any more books ever, ever again. Sad.
Kami wrote: Sometimes if I really love a series, I hate to finish it, since there will never be any more books ever, ever again. Sad. "I so agree. I really drag my feet as well. It took me ages to finally get up to date on Feehan's Carpathian books - and now I have to wait! And I'm taking at least a month per book on KMM's fever and NS's Angel series. Fortunately I'm still discovering good new series to occupy the in between times :)
Kami wrote: "I can't believe there are so many who have already finished their book. I just started mine today. Come on, it's only the 6th! Overachievers, indeed."I have to admit I didn't expect to finish Outlander in a day (have I mentioned it's a big loooonnngggg book?). But I've been hit with a dreaded bug going around and that has laid me low for a while. I've been in a reading funk lately - just unable to figure out what to read next so I've used the March reading challenge to pick out some new reading material from my shelves. Really handy things these challenges :)
Fortunately that lead me to reading Magic to the Bone which is the first book in ages that I've given 5 stars too. Going to hunt out the next in the series now (which is the true sign of a 5 star book for me - when I put the first one down and immediately reach for the next one)
Jane (PS) wrote: "Kami wrote: Sometimes if I really love a series, I hate to finish it, since there will never be any more books ever, ever again. Sad. "I so agree. I really drag my feet as well. It took me ages..."
And I'm sure if you ever get stuck for new series to try we could suggest a few things :)
(side note - I just wish she'd hurry up and tell Dimitri and Skyler's story!!! We've been waiting too long for that one)
