Dav looks to drake "if that's crocodiles that means theres treasure! Fight them on our own or turn back and get help?"
Drake slowly draws his sword as he looks at Dav and shrugs. "where would they keep the treasure? in their bellies?" he ask as he looks for ripple in the water. "might be best, to slowly make are way back, if we do get attacked then, would be best we nearer our allies."
Dav hefts his glaive in a more combat ready position ”I heard a rumor in town that the crocodiles guard hordes of treasure like dragons. If its anything like a dragons horde I want a piece of it. Lets head back and get some help and come check this out.” ((look at the rumors section on the first page))

Dav whispers to drake "what do you think? should we try talking to them? they might be from the village. they said the village was friendly."
Drake slowly puts his sword down to his side, keeping it reeady but in a nonthreatening postision as he whispers back to Dav. "I'll give it a try, but if things go bad scoot off first I'll be right behind." he says as he turns to face the crocodile ones. "Hello there is there something you all wish to discuss now?" he ask carefuly.

Dav starts walking backward hoping to get far enough to cry for help and says "where's jade with her comprehend languages spell when you need her huh?" he smiles "I'll hold them off you run back and get help! And hurry!" he continues backing up as quickly as possible while shifting into combat ready position.
"we mean no harm, we come in peace" dav says in one last vain attempt to communicate
Drake brings his sword in a defensive stance as he looks at Dav. "I do think if we wanted to run we should have done that sooner." he says s he brings out his shield. "I doubt I could run about in this swamp, and not get my self tripped over."
Dav smiles "theres only four of them. We can hold them off until they realize that we are gone. Which ones do you want, right or left?" ((how long have we been gone from the group?))
Drake smirks before speaking. "I'll take the two on the left. And lets hope the sound of battle reaches them before we finish up here."

Dav looks over to drake, smiles and says “ladies first.” and charges in taking a swipe at the one furthest right. ((I am charging, I don’t have a shield and I am holding the glaive two handed. What dice do I roll?))

Meanwhile the lizard things stab with thier spears. One grazes Dav's shoulder and the another stabs Drake in the chest. He goes down, spurting out blood.
((Dav takes 2 points of damage, Drake takes 10 :o))
Drake can only blargs! and spite out his own blood as that spear digs into his chest, as he knows that a hit of any kind now will do him in.
