What do you think of Fallen?

Once you read the remaining books, I think your opinion of Fallen is going to change. I really believe that you will see that the first book is more like a prologue to the rest of the series and was just setting up the scene so that the reader can experience a growth along with the characters from scratch all the way to the "end" where the characters have reached their destinations...metaphorically speaking.

Sam wrote: "Don't you find it frustrating when you are rooting for the other love interest and you know the main character is going to end up with the other?"
I find myself rooting for the other guy almost all the time. The only time the guy I've rooted for won the girl was in the Hunger Games.

And Fallen was probably better than Torment but we got to know pretty interesting stuff in Torment too. I think Lauren Kate is a fabulous writer who knows how to tell a story.
I like Luce. She is an ordinary teenage girl. I empathize with her bad decisions. She is pretty easy to like. And Daniel is a great character- his tragedy and heartbreak spanning over the course of 7000 years makes him a perfect tragic hero. Just the idea of him drives me crazy. :)
mhhh then perhaps I need to give the series a chance since there are 4 more books in the series after all. I really like the concept of the novels though, I really wanted to like it but the first book was just not doing it. It would be interesting to see Luce grow as a character.
