As you can see, there have been some big changes to our Speaking of Audiobooks Goodreads group. Organization of the best kind has come to our group and the dozens of messages that were posted on Saturday are proof of that change as it happened.
I’m happy to announce that Brenda has agreed to be co-moderator for our Goodreads group. She has the gift of organization as well as many ideas on how to make our group’s gathering place easier to navigate with folders to generate more discussion.
Please allow me to point out a few more features:
Group Bookshelf It is finally up and running. Eventually, we will have a number of shelves but our first shelf, “Mini Reviews”, will contain all of the Mini Reviews from the Speaking of Audiobooks column since May, 2009. Our members are volunteering to move these books to our Goodreads group and we are asking that you consider helping with the process. You will notice a thread “Helping move SOA reviews to our Goodreads group” and within that thread you will find some simple guidelines for moving these reviews. I’m featuring this Mini Reviews shelf in the upcoming column this week and would appreciate any and all assistance you can provide!
New Board Organization At another thread, “New Board organization questions and suggestions”, we’d love to hear your suggestions. What folders or group shelves do you want to see? Do you have a suggestion that may improve our reorganization? Do you have questions about how it all works? Do you want more or fewer folders? Please visit and give us your ideas.
New Discussion Folders A few of the new folders we are using to generate discussion are “Favorite Authors in Audio”, “Narrator Discussions”, and our “2011 Listening Challenge”.
If you are like me and automatically received notification of dozens of posts yesterday, I think this message provides a summary of just what was going on! Please look around and let us know your thoughts!
